  • I always thought the transformation part was wicked cool.

  • this one looks waay better than the one thats still performing here in florida, it's follows the movie way better too!!!! why would they get rid of it??????

  • we did this musical in our school I love it

  • I nearly died laughing when Chip came out pirouetting!

  • So this was back in the 90's right?

  • These people dont know when to clap.

  • cant keep my tears back

  • i dont know why luminuere(or how ever you spell it) reminds me of sebastain the crab off of little mermaid

  • It's amazing how some people have never been to a live performance. Sit yo ass down till everyone is completely off stage and the music has finished!

  • What a wonderful paper bookcase.

  • No disneyland is in anahiem

  • disneyland is in hongkong

  • @bingbrian2 Noooo, Disneyland is in California.

  • The roles of Belle and Gaston are sung live!!!

  • the set is kind of odd.

  • shit lol

  • Best part of Transformation song missed...

  • hehehe ...the giant heart at the end.... :)

  • the ending to this is truly beautiful. <3

  • Disney is amazing!

  • I remember this being the first Disneyland show I ever saw! This show brings back so many memories! Even as a three-year-old, I remember we'd watch the latest performance of this and then go grab a seat for Fantasmic!

The ending song moves me to tears! Thank you Disneyland for making the best memories I've ever had!

I just hate how people get up and leave before the curtain call! It's very rude to actors who work hard to put on a great show for them!

  • It is the most Sweet Love story of all times from the Disney movies, such of love is equal from the castle staff memebers, the love to her father and the love between them, ablolutely adorable play and movie, I never get born or tired of this Disney movie, and this Beauty and the Beast Musical animation, it is so real all the costusmes Amazing magical play!!!!

  • Could Disney Please bring this back to Disneyland Please!

  • Oh wow. I saw this play when I was like 3, back in the early 90s. I still remember it. Thanks for posting!

  • This is stupid

  • Amazing Beast-to-Human transformation!! And HOW ON EARTH did she change into her yellow dress so quickly?!?

  • @Shaniktea You said it! To this day, I'm still trying to figure out how they did it! It doesn't look like they switched out the Beast & Prince at all!

As for the the quick change, if you are super fast, it's definitely possible to to a quick change in about 30 seconds. I have a friend in a show right now who has to do a quick change in about that same amount of time.

  • @2:04 - HERPES!!!!!!!

  • this is so much better than the one at hollywood studios

  • This is very good. I love Beauty & the Beast Live. But I don't like when you miss the bell chime, skip a little on the begining of the Mob Song, and skip to the curtain cal and ending it before the curtain falls. Sorry, I just like it perfect and it's not your fault. I also kind of like the evening version better. So for those of you out there has the whole complete nighttime version of Disneyland's Beauty & the Beast Live? Please upload it. Thank you.

  • Holy quick change.

  • where is this disneyland? in USA, France or Hongkong?

  • @Kishaa721 usa

  • @filmfreak11 thanks. hmmm.... it's too expensive to get there...

  • @filmfreak11

weve just seen this in Toyko disney land. it was beautiful :D

  • Is this the actual voices from the movie?

LOL! cause it sounds like it =)

  • Comment removed

  • thats SJB!

  • Belle and the Beast in his Beast costume should have danced together! It kinda defeats the whole mood of the scene with it like this. :(

  • That Was Beautiful!

  • 5:51

  • I aodre this show so much!

everytime we get to go to Florida, my family and I see this. It's so charming, and the costumes+coreographies are so fun to watch! =D

(too bad it was raining and storming last time... The actrees doing Belle actually kind of yelped in a scene due a thunder. <xD)

  • Is she actually singing? She sounds exactly like Belle.

  • If so, she should succeed Paige O Hara....

  • @mcdawnalds, no she doesn't. she sounds really off to me. :-/

  • @mcdawnalds OMG yes she is thats Stephanie J. Block.... and she's AMAZING!!! She also played Elpheba in Wicked!

  • lol "Cue fold out library." Awesome.

  • With out a doubt that is SJB!

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, this is definitely Block.

Steph herself confirmed this, and so did her parents. The video's info should be updated.

  • I want beasts costume :3

  • small library

  • SJB!!!

that is most definitely SJB. i've never been more sure of anything in my life :P (well...I have. But that's 100% SJB hahaha)

  • WOW!!! How did they do that transformtion. That is really really really really good, no not good, great.

  • r they using recordings for all the songs?

  • no... it's live, these broadway people don;t use recordings :)

  • wow, that is amazing. it sounds so good i thought it was a recording. someday my vocals will get that good.

  • The voices of the "animated" objects are from a recording, the humans are live.

  • Belle and the beast are the only ones who actually sing live...everyone else is lipsyncing

  • No, the beast doesn't sing, he dubs. Only Belle and Gaston sing.

  • haha that's what i meant lol

  • @jahdancer93 thats true at Hollywood Studios but in THIS show everyone not in a masked costume sings. you can tell its not the synthetic-y sound as normal shows are now. or at least in "Belle"

  • wow mganda tooh pnuorn nio!!!1

  • hooray! a heart!

    the bows are cute.

  • <3<3<3

  • Yup, that's SJB XD

  • This is still performed everyday at Disney World (Orlando) at Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • Wow, I think SJB had the difficult task of being the first woman recreating the tearful plead to the beast that Paige O'Hara made famouse in the movie, and she did pretty good if you ask me.

  • she does sound like stephanie j block

  • This girl's voice is better than Susan Edgan's. She Should've been Belle on Broadway.

  • It sure sounds like SJB to me. :-)

  • I love how she just called him "Beast"

  • whose stephanie J.? Shes not the voice in the movie

  • She's a broadway actress, she was in Wicked as the part of Elpheba and she's amazing, check her out in Wicked singing Defying Gravity

  • I saw her in Chicago as Elpheba... she was great

  • 4:16 some kid goes "what happened mama?" too cute

  • the woman who played belle was stephanie j block from wicked.

  • that totally is SJB

  • The one in Disney World is better. ;]

  • yes it is still in disneyworld i just went in september

  • I have a strong urge to kick the beast xD

  • this is sjb!!!! i love her!!!1

  • me too! her in Wicked, too... just amazing

  • the beast sounds like the ACTUAL guy from the movie!!! amazing!! xD

  • i think they used some audio from the actual soundtrack, and movie in this. i think for "be our guest" and the beast's voice.

  • All of the big "puppet" costumed actor's voices are from the movie.

  • in wich disney parc? paris, california, floride????????

  • Lol, I loved the way the Beast shoved Gaston away at the end, during the curtain call. Still completely in character. =)

  • I have to confess...I talked to my friend Michelle, who also played Belle, and she said that this video is of Stephanie and not her. I stand corrected!

  • that was one wicked transformation! ^^

I actually saw the one at MGM Studios in Orlando and it was so AWESOM!! :D

  • this has to be SJB. this is the way she sang in Wicked and the Pirate Queen

  • cute

  • And this isn't really the ACTUAL stage show.

    Haha.

  • If you're thinking the ACTUAL Broadway stage show, then no. But it is the ACTUAL Disneyland theme park production stage show, yes.

  • This is SJB.

  • Beautiful!!! I was in tears!!!

  • this is coooool

  • that has to be stephanie, thanks for this so much!

  • this is SJB

  • i saw this when i went to disney.

i loved it, my brother however didnt. lol

    love<3

  • do know if it is still in disney world cause im going this summer and i REALLY want to see it

  • I assume this was a question. Yes, Walt Disney World has a stage version of Beauty & the Beast in the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park. But the video shown here is from California, YEARS ago.

  • oop i forgot the "you" and yes that was the question because i saw it many years ago i just didnt know if it was still up

  • i saw beauty and the beast performed at disney world's hollywood studios over spring break with the rest of our high school band. it was amazing.

we're also doing this for our school musical.

  • it was kind of lame... but still good! i loved the voices! everyone must have worked really hard on all the blocking!!

  • it sounds like her, but she looks too short

  • I personally know Stephanie and that IS her.

  • hey can u please tellme where i cant find outto geta beast costume like that contact me back thank u

  • yeah there is no question that is stephanie j block. the way she talks and sings are dead give aways

  • it totally sounds like stephanie but maybe its not

  • nice desses bell have

  • this is definitely stephanie. you can hear it in her voice

  • @generoussupply Yes. You are right. It's Stephanie. I've been looking for one of Michelle for awhile. We used to take from the same voice teacher.

  • i went to a couple of these shows when I was in Florida, and it's amazing how many rude people just get up and walk away without some sort of gesture or acknowledgement to the performers on stage... it is customary to clap, unless the production was completely bad.

  • I find the issue is that the Fantasyland Theater is open-air. People assume they can leave whenever they want. They have more vision of where they're going. Whereas the Hyperion Theater in California Adventure is enclosed and dark, people can't see and wait for the house lights.

  • Wow, that is rude. Some people are just....ugh.

  • Yep, that's definitely steph. :)

  • STEPHANIE J BLOCK ROCKS

  • the beat made me laugh.

  • Nice!

  • y would they want to use the same choreography that would be boring

  • in what manner are you speaking of??

  • How DARE you!!!!

  • Orlando's version?? Are you kidding? They had dancing Bat Girls! It was hideous! Much better stage production in California. Same went with Pocahontas. The dancers in Anaheim worked their tails off and put on an amazing show! Florida went in a complete different direction. You would think they would use the same choreography and show design for all the shows. Too Bad! It's like petty high school rivalry instead of guest satisfaction.

  • Having never seen the Florida versions I can't agree or disagree. I just miss these sort of things at the California Resort. Now it's all HSM. URGH! The show with the princesses that is there now is really just to sell the face painting and stuff in the antechamber area.

  • from movie to musical this will always be my favourite!

  • Yes this is most def SJB.

  • totally Steph, she's gone so far in her career. I'm so thankful I saw her in Wicked.

  • You're So lucky! When I went Steph was suppose to be playing but went home sick of something! I met Annaleigh Ashford and Lisa Brescia though...!!!

  • She sprained her ankel and was in an air cast and cruches. She had just returned when I went to see her. She was limping:(

  • I do not think this production is up to par with the version in Orlando.

  • I have more books than the "librarys" in my room.lolz

the thing that gets on my nerves is that mrs.pots is bigger than the beast

  • 100% sure it is Steph.

  • I'm amazed by Disney's lack of imagination in this show!..it's so common it could have been done by a high school drama club!

  • the library just made me laugh!!! God.... horrible

  • Riiiight... keep in mind this was produced 16 years ago...

  • no way! that is sooo cool!

  • yeah...we believe you...*coughNOTcough*

  • And it was a musical for kids, whether I want to admit it or not, they wouldn't be able to sit through a conventional musical =P

  • what will she tell chip when he's older

  • the circle of life... the birds and the bees... what else?

  • From Stephanie's website: he has appeared as the Lead Vocalist with Les Brown & His Band of Renown and the Billy Vaughn Orchestra, and was the original Belle in the Disneyland production of "Beauty and the Beast."

You can take down the disclaimer on all your videos now--we don't want people confused!

  • So far the SJB argument has been pretty victorious.

  • Beauty and the Beast:The musical is actually coming to Malaysia! But, I am unsure weather the costume is going to 100% different or not.

  • I like this better then the one at MGM. Better transitions.

  • i cant stand the beast costume u cant see his face and it just stays the same facial expression its so bad that way

    bell was great tho

  • they used to have dancing bats. :)))) me favvvv. but her dresss i 'sposed to be goldddddd not like bright yellow. ITS LIKE THE SUN IM BLIIIIIIINNNND

  • Dancin' bats?

  • it was at mgm and when i was little girl, and after the mob song or during it bat dancers would come out and dance. Twas me favorite, and when belle attacked gaston and screamed loud. heeeheee i's a drama queen, which is why i wish i lived near disney so i could perform in this stuff. :)

  • same was at the Disneyland Paris in 1996, when I saw it.

  • why...

  • Can anybodt tell me who plays the prince???

  • .....this library sucks. that can't even make a backround for it? In the movie it was HUGE--it was an entire room. that's, like....hardy taller than the beast. I'm sorry, I have a thing with things being true to how they are in originals. All of the costumes and backrounds are PERFECT, though ^ ^

  • Well this was also a scene change from the "Be Our Guest" number to "The Mob Song".

  • I love that library!

  • shes from thats so raven!

    omg cool!

  • This is my favorite Disney movie by far. This was an absolutely amazing performance.

  • Its definitely Stephanie! I just saw her on Broadway and I would never forget that voice!!!!

  • This is better than the one at MGM Studios in Florida.

  • Oh...my bad, I didn't look that far down; well didn't read that part because it didn't really look like a resume.

  • I love the Something There song! Haha. i'm sorry but the costumes seemed to go over board... even if it is closer to the disney...

HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOOL'S PRODUCTION WAS AMAZINGLY BETTER! sorry...

  • That's steph, I swear that's steph.

  • Thats not SJB...I'm a huge fan of hers and this isn't her voice. Plus, it doesn't say anything about this on her website or anything related to Beauty and The Beast

  • Man, I wish the Broadway musical do a World Tour like Phantom, it's a shame!

  • they actually do it, i believe, not quite sure though, check it on broadway on line or sth like that! then u can tell me! LOL!

  • im so glad they didnt add wardrobe...i play her im my school's production of it....and i hate playing her. i find her so annoying

  • Steph is AMAZING!!! Even in a show they have to completely cut down for time reasons, she still is stunning and amazing!

  • That's not Stephanie..check her website she never did this.

  • Are you sure?? I mean, it sounds a LOT like Stephanie.

  • One of my pet hates is when members of the audience leave as soon as the curtain comes down. Don't the orchestra deserve to be listened to?!

I'm playing beauty in a pantomime in January, I'm so excited! The only disney B+B song in it though is Be Our Guest, although I get to sing 2 phantom songs :) Woop

    Love this clip!

  • When was this? love to steph!

  • Thats not Stephanie...check her website she never did this.

  • Her website does say so. If you go to her site and then go under the career section, it says "and was the original Belle in the Disneyland production of "Beauty and the Beast."

  • Steph is so darned cute =]

  • BELLE HAS AN AMAZING VOICE!!!

  • that Gaston does a good job. I like how they've changed it slightly. Could have been a bit clearer about her going to the castle for those who don't know the story though.

  • The narrator said "through a series of strange circumstances, [Belle] found herself held captive inside a dark and forboding castle". That's good enough for me. The movie was only released a few months eariler. This is a good time to be keeping people's interest in the movie and hyping up an eventual VHS video release. The show was changed slightly for the time allowed for a theme park stage show...

  • yeah I would have liked that bit a little acted out more. still a good show. Maybe have Belle say after her song ," oh look a castle" and walking off stage. Then cut to the Beast scene. I know I'm picky =P
