hey shawnta...im sure someone has already told you this but if you bent the pipe cleaner in half instead of cutting it, you might like your results better but of coarse it will look better each time you do it because it will be longer and i use to locs as well...my hair seems like its getting too long for pipe cleaners now so what would you recommend...my hair length is the middle of my back and about the size of a straw

Now you know you can't be staying away that long again, right? Love the curls... I had pipecleaner curls in a few weeks ago myself... they are tight and resilient little curls... The don't fall very much at all :)

Cool, Im not a curly sue either, I do that lokck about every 3 months or when I want my mohawk to stick straight up. Still give thinks on the sytles you have uploaded. Greetings,..it came out cute but have you tried wrapaloc? The outcome is better, and fyi the pipe cleaners over time pull yr locks out....also you can keep them in yr hair as another style...try it out...I love them

@EmpressEarth76 I don't really feel this look is worth that amount of money for something that I will only do occasionally. Even though this is ok for me it is still not my ideal size curl. I would much rather have a looser curl but these will do as a base for other styles.

It's been a while but I remember when I did the pipe cleaner curls I could undo the bottom and pull the pipe cleaner out. Yeah with the loose ends they do get stuck on it.

i purchased some pipe cleaners a couple of months back. i have yet to break them out. so nervous my curls are going to be ultra short, but you just gave me hope! lol

If you fold the pipe cleaners in half and twist them together instead of cutting them you will end up with a more substantial pipe cleaner you can use just like flexi rods. Taking the out would be much easier than what you did.

@CherishMyDaughter Yes it would be easier that way! I failed to mention that I only had 75 really long pipe cleaners and I wanted to try them out a few ways before I commited to one way so I do have another pack where I can try the way you suggest and other methods.

cute style! glad to see you make a video again!. if you bend the pipe cleaner in half, twist it all the way down to cover the blunt ends, then wrap your locs around in a spiral, and then fold the top and bottom of the pipe. after they dry, unfold the top and bottom, grab your loc and slide the pipe cleaner out. easy as pie, it'll take you like 10-15 minutes to take them out next time.

cute! i curl my locs rarely but when i do i wrap about 5 or 6 locs around each cleaner after putting a handful of styling mousse on a section and i like how it turns out non-worm/snake like ( rollers make me look like medusa) and it's so quick! i fold the whole pipe cleaner in half and slide my locks in between the halves so i just pull it straight and it slides out quickly w/o ripping any hair. thanks for sharing!
