She sounds like a beggar begging a beggar, ones stupid the others a sell out, but if you thought corporate suits aren't sellout, you're also an idiot.
That woman there isn't thinking clearly. David Banmiller is my grandfather, and he worked his mother FRIKKIN ass off to save this airline, and i hope all of you will someday realize that he saved the airline a long time ago once from bankruptcy, and he tried his hardest this time, too. He really did. He's not a cruel person AT ALL. He would never want the people of Hawaii to suffer :(
Well dude I understand hes your grandfather and tried his hardest and I hate to say it but theres alot of aloha pilots (my dad) and others pissed at what hes made the company. Sure he tried but in the right direction?
and i bet you didnt know that he was also fooling around with a flight attendent too. he was busted in the hawaiian parking structure and the employee lo as well. so so much for your honest grampa
why do haole people gotta fuck everything up for Hawaii. stupid Go, PACK YOUR SHIT AND GET OUTTA HEA! u get no respect fo us and our island!! bastards! you dont even care about da ohana and how they will suffer, unlike Go, sit on your ass being greedy and shit!
(part 2) Consider the revolutionary quantum leap this, the first jetliner type to work for an airline in Hawaii. Not just aviation history, but social as well. Despite their importance, jetliners are seldom saved, while military, no question. Don't let her die in the desert! Her good parts/engines can be swapped for expired to make a complete 'display' aircraft. Spread the word...
Sorry to learn this. Now, listen carefully... I reckon if possible a fundraise should be made to save, for static preservation, the Aloha Funbird N823AL 'Liholiho.' Imagine this plane decked out as a themed cafe, and a shrine to the memory of Aloha. What could be more fitting? This airline and livery needless to say is a true ICON of a vibrant Hawaiian holiday. She takes as much room as a DC-3, and the 737-200 gave near 40 years of sterling service to Hawaii, so is as important as a '3!
Aloha will not be the last. Mesa stock is at 64 cents. They just shutdown their Air Midwest operation may fold themselves. Maybe Alohoa can amoe back if they do....but will likely not be the same.
I remember flying on Aloha some 13 years ago and I loved them. Sure, it was 3 inter-island flights, but it was flights I would not forget. I hope Aloha comes back and doing passenger service and not just cargo service. I also hope that when they come back, Go! is destroyed and forced to go into Ch 11. At which point, Aloha can then buy out Go!, taking the planes, employees, assets, and kick Ornstein's criminal behavior off the islands.
All emotions aside, Banmiller is right. This is just the tip of the iceberg of an industry that is headed for even more turmoil. With Aloha, Banmiller came in trying to revive an unconscious patient. It only got worse. There is a lot of blame to be assigned: the Ings & Chings, Zander, VPs throughout the mid 1990s & 2000s, front-line managers, unions (pilots, IAM, mechanics), employees, competition, fuel prices. The quarterback gets the glory and blame, but this was a team failure.
I will always miss aloha airlines :(
