I was really upset when the Dawkins left the Eagles because he's probably in the top 5 safetys ever but also because he's one of my favorite players as well but I understand completely why they did it and I don't hold it against them. Losing Dawkins was a big hit to the Eagles defense. Dawkins was the heart in the entire Eagles team for years, and was a bad ass safety on top of that. I think it was horrible that the Eagles released Dawkins...and especially since he's with the broncos :s

Zarilli, there is no doubt that Dawk was a leader and motovitor of our defence and yes he will greatly be missed. But the truth is Dawk was horrible in pass coverage and he always got beat in the deep route. Blitzing is all he does best and it not always we need him as LB. Maybe in a way we found our weak spot cuz coverage is what we need in our d-line back field.

Also, now that our linebackers have developed a little bit, I think the Eagles will be just fine without Dawkins.

Do the math. Denver offord 7.5 million on a 5 yr contract that is little over 1.5 million per yr. Banner and the Eagle FO offord Dawk 4-5 millon on 1 yr deal.
