Lack of motivation is a pity excuse for Bama. If Bama would have beaten Utah, I'd be hearing of how motivated Bama was. I take it Cincy lost to Florida and TCU lost to Boise for the same reason that Bama lost to Utah (but they didn't). USC was motivated enough to play in the 2003 and 2007 Rose Bowls despite having legit gripes to play for the BCS NC.

Nick Saban said he and his team were happy to be at the Sugar Bowl and said that the game was very important to them. They took it seriously....

OK, Bama's biggest win was at Georgia. Fair enough on the Florida game cause Florida needed 14 points in the 4th to come-from behind and win. But that Utah game against Bama. The game was virtually over after the 1st quarter. Utah led by double-digits all game.

The two "blowouts" were both on neutral fields (Florida SEC title game and Utah in the Sugar bowl).

Interesting to point out that like Arky in 06 and Auburn in 03, Alabama's biggest win was a squeaker over Ole Miss while getting blown out by their best competition (Florida and Utah).

The 06 arKansas went 10-4 (7-1 SEC)They only lost to Florida by 10, LSU by 5 and Wisky by 3. USC beat em in their back yard by 36. That 05 team, not so good, USC lays a beatdown on them like no SEC team could.

03 Auburn. Layed a beat down like one other team (LSU) that year did but LSU should know they rarely win at Auburn and vice-versa. Luckily for LSU, they were hosting

'02 Auburn (9-4, 6-2 SEC, T-1st), USC beats them about the same score as Florida.

Arkansas teams weren't good??? Wouldn't matter who USC faces, USC continues to win as evident as the 30-2 OOC record (52-7 Pac-10 record) since PC became coach.

East-coast media (media in general) protecting their own and keeping USC out of the title game. At least Florida deserves more credit than other SEC teams for OOC scheduling (and I'll let scheduling the Citadel slide because you guys had Miami and Florida State over low level teams from non-BCS schools.

Arkansas was good in '06, I'm not gonna argue with you on that one. But they DID lose to the four best teams on their schedule. The Florida game was close, but they trailed the LSU game the whole time and should have lost by much more than 5. They should have beat Wisconsin, but the 2nd half was not good to them. '03 Auburn was 8-5(I beleive) and was destroyed by the 3 best teams on their schedule(USC, LSU, Georgia).

the thing is, we really don't know who would win if LSU and USC played......i could sit here as an LSU fan and say we'd do what we've done to Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Miami in the past 3 seasons. but if appy state can beat michigan, stanford can beat USC, and arkansas can beat LSU literally using 1 page of their playbook, then there's no way i can tell you for a fact that LSU would win, or that USC would win.

i dont care that the SEC and ohio state are media darlings and they get into the championship game each year. oregon should have gone in 2001, USC should have played LSU and florida these past two years. so your numbers a skewed. beating the big 10 is no accomplishment. the Pac has been doing it with ease for years

florida lost to lowly ole miss this year AT HOME. USC lost to a better-than-ole-miss oregon state on the road on thursday. in '07 they lost to stanford (just as bad as floridas losses) and should-have-been-NC-winner oregon on the road. '06 they lost to a 10 win oregon state team

Out of 8 conference games, SEC teams need to win only 2 to be bowl eligible. (The rest of the nation knows why)

If the Pac10 followed the SEC's formula last year, all 10 teams would have been bowl eligible.

That would clearly make the Pac10 the best conference!

Look at the SEC teams that USC has faced recently:

Auburn('02, '03) Auburn finished 8-5 each of those years, hardly impressive.

Arkansas('05, '06) Arkansas finished a mediocre 4-7 in 2005. In 2006, they won the SEC West, but got handled by the good teams they played(USC, LSU, Florida, Wisconsin)

But what REALLY stands out about those games is that those were USC's dynasty years. If USC played good SEC teams, then the results would be different.
