...i want a Jabba for my Diorama and this figure looks good except for one thing, his belly its not hard plastic like the rest of his body its rubbery and it can be pushed in which means that it will be the first thing to break...but still thinking of getting it because it might be a long time before they make another one...
The "Briefing over Endor" scene is so AMAZING! it would be even better if you put some lights under the map of the hologram table. Hope this helps you out. I'll surely be keep on checking your updates!
wow carboard...i like it. you really live up to your name. reminds me when i was a kid. I always made the stuff i didnt have, usually out of shoeboxes. I once made a raptor pen from jurassic park movie from the biggest shoe box i had and even put plants and things inside
@JeffTheFutureJaros Yeah great idea. I just used the rest up for a low-budget version of Han vs. Greedo scene and put up the video this morning. I'll be sure to go through the box bins at Trader Joe's again next time i'm there :)
I LOVE ur vids!! The piece of cardboard is insanely simple and works really well. I love the way you've displayed Han and Chewie for the briefing room scene. Why not use a (modified?) hamster ball for the holographic Death Star. I typed "Hamster ball" in Google "images" and found really nice potential candidates for your diorama. Good luck. Keep up with the great job, mate!
@darkscoutdave Thanks a lot, exactly what I was thinking was to use a Hamster Ball. I'll need to find one that is blue and transparent for hopefully below $10.
@darkscoutdave I see, I don't remember it being as big as a Hamster ball though, a lil' smaller than that to go with the scale of the display I was thinking.
@BudgetJedi@BudgetJedi I had no clue about the price. Have you seen MrCorelian's own Hanshotfirst-scene diorama? This could help you too ("Han and Greedo Cantina Shootout Diorama") . Thanks for your invitation. I gladly acccept it of course!
Have you thought about trying out a clear glass ornament from Michael's or Hobby Lobby for the Death Star Hologram? You could coat with a clear red paint and then maybe add some details with a paint marker.
@screamingsamurai Great idea! I'll look for them. I've seen some clear glass ornaments but they are not perfectly spherical, AND they go for $10 which for me is a bit high for this type of "temporary" setup. I'll check Michael's - But i didn't realize they sell clear paint this is a superb idea thanks!
Brilliant! How lucky is that, getting 3 bottles of your favourite wine AND a perfect backdrop for Jabba's Palace lol.Looking forward to seeing the finishing touches on both of those mate, they're gonna look great :)

clever ideas...it doesn't have to be movie accurate as long as it conveys the scene.

Those cardboard pieces would work great for the Bar scene in Empire Strikes Back as well, for the side walls.

@BudgetJedi Glad I could help ya out, I might do this too, if I opened my figures, I need to start getting some loose figs off of E-Bay. Peace.

just break the bottom off of that red one, paint it blue, & glue it on the Diorama

@BudgetJedi They have Hamster Balls that small?
JeffTheFutureJaros 1 year ago
@JeffTheFutureJaros they do 'cause some are neant to be used by mice.

@JeffTheFutureJaros they do 'cause some are neant to be used by mice + the holographic Death Star in the original scene is quite big.

@boshek71 Thanks, great you think the backdrop works, I know it's no Jabba's Palace but for some reason those arch looking things help the setup.
BudgetJedi 1 year ago
The backdrop really makes the set up pop.
