I've been using the 2 finger scrolling on my dv9000 for years with linux, its not just a mac thing.

@draftube It's because OS X is based on Unix. Apple just rebranded it and made it more mainstream.

As far as the build quality, that's a double edged sword with Apple. Aluminum is pretty dinky. It feels solid but people have dented their Macs by just picking them up or from normal use. Also, aluminum scratches and scuffs very easily, moreso than some ABS plastics.

We British, in all honesty, - nothing against you personally, are really annoyed about what the US have done to the English language. The original spelling is aluminium, the in the US you say it aluminum - so someone makes the spelling a valid one.

I got myself the Alu about a week ago and I love it. I was worried that the glossy screen would be a problem, but it's not. Another thing I'm really pleased with is that iMovie09 can import and play AVCHD-video without any problem. My ( pretty decent) PC always had a hard time with that format.

Not at all, take the battery out and the RAM and Hard disk are underneath, just pull out and slot a new one in.

The touchpad takes some getting used to, but in use its actually better than most.

How do you find the screen? i heard that the black levels and colour accuracy are just as bad as the last generation, do you find an improvement? i want to get one of these, but not if it has a terrible screen.

the problem with these things is that when you accidentally have to run Linux or Windows on them the no-button pad gets really annoying. The fat black bezel is strange move, I like thin bezel all aluminum look much better.
