It's possible. Just saw something on the history channel. The long airstrip looking thing was put on a mountain that looks artificially flat. Like some big cake-cutter sliced across the mountain in one smooth stroke. But then again, people do amazing things and the Nazca people could have been talented artists.

Nobody know why they did this but we know that they use ropes and sticks, and you can see the shape of allmost all the lines from the ground. But definitely you can not see them unless you fly, so you will see them clearly. There is a wood tower constructed recently in which you can see some of the small ones.

Has anyone noticed how the lines on Google especailly the detailed areas, have been blurred out? I work in Photoshop-type high resolution retouching and I can see a lot of Google-editing all over the program. Why? Also, look at the lines under the ocean. @Beantown3sup actually, its quite windy, have you heard of the " paracas" winds, the lines were almost vanished until Maria Reiche went there and " restored" them, the upper sand is darker than the lower sand, because of oxidation ( it has lots of iron) and there are so many rocks there, it's quite difficult to land a plane without totaling the landing gear.

it's so confusing, the lines go right throught like...the sand is not flat, so how did they make them go for miles perfectly, without any technology...
@sixheartagram They made clay theodolites, I have seen some at the Nasca Museum before it was destroyed by the earthquake in 1995, basically its a bowl with four holes and filled with water...it allows you to trace straight lines for miles, just using sticks and a string.

@pijon68 I'm confused because of the multiple forms of differing information that is out there. In some videos the claim is the ground was scraped away exposing a lighter color of ground underneath, where in other videos, eighteen inch rock walls were formed that was about a foot wide. Is it a fact that the "Lines" were made after, and right over, the figures? Were the figures disturbed in any way by the creation of the lines?

Has anyone noticed how the lines on Google especailly the detailed areas, have been blurred out? I work in Photoshop-type high resolution retouching and I can see a lot of Google-editing all over the program. Why? Also, look at the lines under the ocean. There are similar lines running across the Oceanic areas. You cannot see them from space but they are there.

jason extreme... 1st of all you should read about the culture that lived in that time. elonged head? YEAH, but not aliens. Okay, here is my well formulated theory based on my observations.
Peru has three things that intrigue me.
1. The Pyramids were built for the gods... Gods of what? From the heavens? Aliens of course.
2. Weird skeletal structures were found in ruins of the Nazca people with elongated heads. Aliens of course.
3. Only aliens have the technology to visit our planet, nonetheless be able to see above the skies to make geometric works of art.
In conclusion, ALIENS OR SUPREME BEINGS!!!

I saw a special on the History channel about this and Chariots of the Gods. This has provoked more thought in my head they anything I have ever see. I am a rational man and educated. I can't see to think of a logical reason this was constructed during that time period. How was this mountain range leveled perfectly yet the other summits of the moutains in the same area be normal? Where did the debris go from these tops? There is no trace of it. There has to be if man made or done by nature

@Beantown3sup actually, its quite windy, have you heard of the " paracas" winds, the lines were almost vanished until Maria Reiche went there and " restored" them, the upper sand is darker than the lower sand, because of oxidation ( it has lots of iron) and there are so many rocks there, it's quite difficult to land a plane without totaling the landing gear.

With past creations and methods made by early civlizations, it could be possible that humans made the Nazca lines. Different farming techniques, Egyptian pyramids, stonehenge. Think about it, to me I think it's VERY possible and most likey that humans made the Nazca Lines.

Having flown as a pilot more than 250 hours over the Nasca lines, and also being an old tour guide in the 1990's, I can assure you, the lines were made by people, there is no mistery to it, the lines were drawn using teodolites made with Ceramic and filled with water ( like bowls with two holes at the sides) the lines poin to some stars during the seasons of planting, and harvesting, and the figures depict cleverly southern hemisphere constellations believed to be important to the Nasca people

Annnd why are aliens coming to earth just to draw pictures in the sand..? A stake used in the nazca lines was found, thats how they dated the lines. Also, these lines aren't permanent. I could go there right now and kick dust over them erasing them for good. Don't make this sound technologically impossible.
Lastly, the pyramids weren't constructed using the same methods, they changed over time. To move the stones, its likely the stones were moved by logs, reducing the weight needed to be pulled

@sixheartagram They made clay theodolites, I have seen some at the Nasca Museum before it was destroyed by the earthquake in 1995, basically its a bowl with four holes and filled with water...it allows you to trace straight lines for miles, just using sticks and a string.
