A great song from the "Reel Life" album. If you have a chance, get the CD for there are quite a few good tunes. One song in particular that I like just as much if not more than WFASTF is "If You Run". That song is very catchy and how that never got airplay back when the album came out I'll never know. That definitely should have been a major hit along with WFASTF.
the thing that makes me want to go back to the 80s is no spy cams, the police wernt hm customs then either you didnt get cars stopped for no road tax, goverments didnt tax us wiv stelf shit
people didnt have autistic the were naughty boys and girls and white hetrosexual males still had some rights
It's a good tune. Nice sax break and makes you light on your feet. In a day and age when so much music is cynical and ironic in nature it's nice to put the breaks on, kick your feet back and listen to a song like this.
I think some of the "innocence" referenced has more to do the fact that we were all younger and less responsible when this song came out, children or teens mostly, so of course we get nostalgic thinking of them now.
I lost count of how many times I got rejected until I found my true love, and I love her so much now that it made all of the waiting and trying and rejections worthwhile. Don't give up. Life is a timeless, mysterious Gift. Live it to the fullest each day. Be thankful for your time on this Earth and the ones you love and have loved. Cherish the memories and let love be your guide, it is the only thing that lasts.
Wingalpha, i'll be rejected 10 times just to find the right person for me which makes it worth while. don't let the fear of rejection stop you. the right person is there, you gotta get out there an enjoy yourself and try relationships, some naturally come to an end put that happens!! it makes way for the new and eventually you will see the right person for you, enjoy the whole dating experience for what it is! meeting new people and experiencing the good and bad and learning from them!
the best memories, Its all on us pal remember the right attitude , the right way of thinking and behave, everything is perfect in every detail... just easy going like in the faves 80's
the 70's and 80's and some of the 90's were worlds of there own, innocence, joy, and hapiness for the world. it's changed now, you will never grasp that aura of those days again. i dont know why its like this now, but to see such times in my lifetime is super.
thinking of using this song for my wedding march-in. One of my all time favourite & it bring back all the sweet love memories i had in 1988. Time flies
gayest means you like it? sorry if I'm not up on the lingo of you crazy kids! Just let me understand, you sitting at your computer and what? you heard the song on the radio? your mom was humming it while she washed the dishes and you thought 'I don't have anything better to do I'll just go to youtube and tell people (again, ones who don't care) that I think the song is quote "gay"'. and for the record....there is nothing *wrong* with me.
what is the purpose of seeking out songs *that you don't like* and then procede to tell us (who honestly honey, don't care) that you don't like the song? I don't get it. maybe you can explain mr./mrs. useless info.
There's no doubt about it, this song has that 'feel good' quality that today's 'pop' music does not have. This song is such a wonderful celebration musically of love, desire and longing-done with style and excellent song craft. "Well done!" 'Boy Meets Girl" Very Well Done, in fact!
Spring of 1990...I was 22 and had a beautiful 19 year old girlfriend who was crazy about me. We lived in different countries...I was in the military and had to leave her when I went back to my permanent duty station, and never saw her again. This song was playing in the background the first time I kissed her, and that is why I love it. Not my kind of music either, but the memories it brings are priceless...Thank you so much for uploading it!
I appreciate what you are saying, but that was 18 years ago, and I have no clue of where or with whom she could be. Besides, I am in a relationship now with another lovely woman who loves me even though I don't deserve her half the time...Sometimes memories are the only things we are meant to keep, and things happen for a reason, you know? I still LOVE this song, no matter what...Thanks for your nice and positive comment!
I remember this song was in the closing credits of 1990's Three Men and a Little Lady, the sequel to 1987's Three Men and a Baby!!! I love those movies.
Strange. A few years ago I did a search for this song with the group name and I was lead to a Japanese all boy band with the same name and song title.
At first, when I heard the artist and title, I wasn't sure if I had heard of it, but then I heard the chorus and then I went, "Oh, yeah! NOW I remember!"
es un tema de recuerdos ochentosos yo me acuerdo cuando pasaban este tema en mi casa poniendo la radio horizonte alla por el año 1988 impresionantes recuerdos
You are right. They were at a Houston concert when Shannon Rubicam noticed a falling star. This was the inspiration for this great song. They wrote it for Houston, but she turned it down because she wanted to go in a different direction. I'm glad they sang, IT'S GREAT!
Attention music industry...you don't lyrics that contain sex, violence, drugs or offensive language to be a hit.

Great song! Best of 80's memories. Touches my heart everytime I hear it.This song was originally written by them for Whitney Houston to sing. She didn't like it, so they did it themselves and it turned out great.
i'm a house-head and appreciate good pop too. This was sampled on 3 house records in 2004. None of them matched this.
This is a very good pop record, one of the best infact. This sounds very similar to the Dirty Dancing theme, i dont know if the same songwriters/producers worked on it, wouldnt surprise me.
