@ChaosZergling In the game its his right, in this it is the right, but its your left so that may be what got you confused. They make it so his arm cant hold a shield so i got him, but never used him in battle.

There's probably some regional slang occurring here so it's not likely to make much sense literally. It's likely that he's saying that her doing that dance at her age isn't flattering for her.

In fact what you are saying is true. In the ending of Star Ocean: First Departure, it shows Ronyx proposing to Ilia. So of course, Claude is indeed her son. Plus, he has blonde hair just like her, as well as blue eyes from Ronyx of course... I think they gave him blue eyes so it would leave for people to decide whether she was his mom or not... but yeah, she definitely is his mother I believe.

My guess is so they don't alienate people who are either fond of another character with either Ronyx or Ilia by making it an in game fact (though it would have been less obvious if they didn't make him freaking look like Ilia). Some fans can get rather testy about things like that, so it was most likely a marketing strategy.

That's the only explanation I can really think of.

He also adapted some of Ilia's special arts and copied some of her end-of-fight speeches on second game. But his full name is Claude C. Kenny. He doesn't have Ilia's last name, which is "Sylvestry". Doesn't make sense, doesn't it? :/
