They offer two extremes (and the media is facilitating thes two options) - all private insurance for profit or government control intruding in our lives. Just like our political systems Dems or Republicans. We only two choices and both will destroy this country. We need a third option for both the political system and healthcare. WE Need an Independent presidential candidate and third option for healthcare.
...the third option for healthcare IS the public option. It let's each American choose between a private insurer's plan OR a public plan like medicare. And beyond that, it lowers the price of the private insurer's plans because it offers competition (if they don't stop screwing their customers, they know those customers will just leave them). It puts the decision in the hands of each individual American, instead of it being in the hands of insurance bureaucrats OR government bureaucrats.
You suck the dick of Corporate Health Insurance Fat Cats -- who DOUBLED PREMIUMS over the last 8 years AND Rejects Coverage for working Americans ----- You sleep with the Devil... fool.....
I worked for health care companies from 93 to 01. Do you know how insurance works? They take the money from productive members of society that do not get sick and redistribute those premiums who do get sick. While skimming a lot of money off the top. It is socialism but you volunteer for it. This legislation sucks but at least come up with a good reason as to why it sucks.
I owned an insurance agency among other things. I wasn't a salaried loser like you. It's called Capitalism shitbag. Without profit there is no productivity or innovation.
YOU move --- you corrupt greedy Insurance Bastard go to HELL WITH YOUR STUPID FUCKING "PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS" REJECTING working Americans from Healthcare
Pre-existing conditions are a fact of life. If you insure a car with a big dent in the side are you held harmless and expect it to be repaired at the expense of the insurance company. Hell...I would go buy a bunch of burned out cars.
Did you ask the employees of the companies you sold insurance to put their money where their mouth was? The companies share of employees insurance cost gets passed on to customers. Shouldn't you on moral grounds asked the companies not to pay for the insurance and make the employees pay for it? You were helping people to get other people to pay for their health care. Hypocrite.
I almost need a secret decoder ring to decipher this strip of shit you composed. Do I have to explain Capitalism to you? It's kinda like when the government taxes corporations at the 2nd highest rate in the world....where do you think that expense is passed on to? Ask Exxon...you pay it at the pump idiot.
@JuniusFaction I've been sick and I pay my own way. Why do I have to pay for a loser like you? Natural selection should kick in at some time. Only the strong survive unless there is unnatural interference.
@JuniusFaction Healhcare in an industry that sells a service. I can buy that service. If you don't have the brain matter or character to provide for yourself then by all means die. You obviously need the nanny state to care for you. Perhaps you would be happy in Cuba. Healthcare is free.
Or Canada, Germany,Japan, or Australia. Or any other industrialized nation. You do realize half of the US is underinsured or uninsured. I would have to say it's in the best interest of the state to keep half of it's population healthy.
I have health care, and don't forsee that I would be unable to afford it in the future. However, I don't think I'm automatically more worthy of living than those who don't. That's a bold claim. Fortunes, change you know.
@JuniusFaction The problem in the equation is the government. No government program has ever been efficient or reduced costs. That is laughable. No one is this country goes without health care...ever.
Currently Canada, Europe, and other countries are trying to find a way out of their mess. They have painted themselves into a corner. Each has at least two generations of people with a sense of entitlement. These are the reasons that the US has always been the big gorilla in the room.
All of Europe, really? I know the Canadian system recently had some trouble, but due to more recent legislation.
They're doing considerably better than us. Compare the Japanese system, arguably the best in the world. It costs them 8% of their GDP, compared to our 17%, and ours is growing faster too. Even Canada is just 10%. I don't think anyone wants to argue that our current system is "efficient" or has "reduced costs".
@JuniusFaction Okay Skippy...let's talk Canada. I'm in Texas and two of my neighbors migrated her from Canada. They don't have nice things to say about the quality of health care up there...ehhh. They wait weeks for an MRI. They have a shortage of machines.
Her aunt waited 6 weeks for a quad by-pass. You get it the same day here.
I had back problems and my doctor sent me downstairs to get an MRI...IN HIS OFFICE BUILDING...not a hospital.
Basically, Canada has passed legislation to cut down on a "surplus" of doctors. The problems you have described have escalated wildly since then. As I've said, I'm aware of Canada's problems. "He said she said" can cut both ways. My friends from the UK have no problem.
-and yes, the rich do come here. We have good doctors. However, our system is very bad at getting sick people into their care.
And the hole in the desert that your pouring billions into isn't bankrupting the country? Stop one of your wars, and the muslim world would stop trying to kill you, AND you could pay for health insurance for the ENTIRE country, but trying telling that to the military industrial complex and the health insurance industry that funds the campaigns that your politicians need to get themselves on the front page.
Wow. You kind of sound like my daughter when she was five and I wouldn't let her have candy. She wished death on all, too. A little nap usually helped her. Maybe it'd help you. :)
Spending money we don't have is bankrupting our nation. The American government isn't even able to pay the interest rates on their debt. Now were embarking on more big spending, way to go!!
Capitalism and health care are not compatible.

nativeveteran70,
The third option is Obama's plan for reform of health care insurance.
Private doctors, private hospitals, and a mix of public and private medical insurance.
And no government takeover whatsoever.

The GOP spin machine has shown over and over and over that it can't be trusted and what it says is regularly the opposite of what's true.
Ronald Reagan in 1980: "We will produce balanced budgets."
George H. W. Bush in 1988: "Read my lips. No new taxes."
George W. Bush in 2000: "I will not engage in nation-building."
Ha!

Can you name anything the government has ever done efficiently? Do you think government health care will lower cost and improve service?
You are a pitiful human piece of waste.

You are so right. A car can't get a job. A car can't earn a living. A car can't pay it's own way. A car can never be responsible.

Ironic thing to say concerning medical care.
How about we apply that philosophy on the biological level and just let the unhealthy die, ditching healthcare altogether?
