  • LOL look at 2:59! Your so funny!

  • Hi Titli, may I put the almond flakes into the frangipan "batter" instead of sprinkling them all over the top while cooking?

  • yummy!!.. but you have a soggy bottom on your pastry you shouldnt prick it all the way through because the mixture soaks through.. and.. well... gives you a soggy bottom

  • instead of baking beans can you use rice?????

cause i read somewhere you can use them instead

  • @noush786een That should work!

  • @TitliNihaan what flour did you use???

  • @noush786een Plain flour

  • You go girl, give yourself a good spanking LOL

  • why do you have to blind bake the pastry. cant you just bake it in the oven normally then put the filling then cook again

  • @ASM7869 If you want to know the answer, just bake the pastry and leave the beans out... :-)

  • @TitliNihaan really, what will happen??

  • I love a giant tart. Honest.

  • MY FAVORITE (Boy i post that a lot) Thanks again. I love bakewell tart second to treacle.

  • Throughout watching your vids for a while I've noticed you really like your baked recipes cooked 'well done'. I prefer bakery goods to be semi-well done esp cookies, in fact just those specifically I like semi raw XD hahha

  • @MissPonderosa I do tend to bake things for slightly longer; that's my personal preference :-)

  • What does baking beans do ? Can i bake it without baking beans ??

  • its more like a pithivier than a frangipan tart

  • I'm now baking one with apricot jam! :D

  • Thank you Titli! I will try to make a gluten free and dairy free version of this one for my boyfriend's mother, whose favorite cake is this one :)

What kind of pastry would be best for this tart?

  • baking beanz!! : D

  • hlarious AND delicious!!! i cannot wait to make this. i just had a similar tart with glazed pears on the top, and frangipan as the base. it was incredible. YAY titli!

  • What do you do with those beans after baking ?

  • Also Titli, what are your thoughts about using Silicone Bakeware in respect to ease of use, and effectiveness?

  • Titli, Any chance you could show how to do an Egg Custard, The Perfect Rice Pudding, The Perfect Souffle or Waldorf Salad?

  • Forgive my ignorance, ma'am, but what exactly are "baking beans" and what purpose did they serve when they were baked with the pie crust?

Thank you for your videos, Titli. I've had many a successful dinner based off of your recipes!

  • @Samurai8989 These beans are to create an effect which is called "Blind Baking" which allows a pie, tart etc to have a stronger base and to result in a much more softer texture. It's used quite a lot as some pies actually go soggy at the base, which makes it difficult to serve.

You don't have to use beans, any sort of dried pulses/Legumes such as beans and lentils can be used! (Sorry Titli, I'm not taking over your cooking techniques!)

  • @happinesscounts

Huh ... I've never even heard of such a technique, but I can see its tremendous use. Thank you very much!

  • Comrade B was most excited at his tart.....

  • Was it plain flour?

  • @andy100965 It was, but self-raising is OK too.

  • It's called frangipane because it is derived from the Italian 'frangere il pane' meaning break the bread which was where a noble family of Rome got their name Frangipani from.

  • Love you Titli.....your vids always make me smile. Thanks for a great recipe.

  • Another Great video Titli.... Keep it up :)

  • I love your kitchen. :)

  • Despite numerous attempts, I can't seem to master Titli's-One-Hand-Egg-Breaking Technique, it seems to be one of those skills you're either born with or not!

  • Ohh, man! My girlfriend will be sooo happy when I make this for her. =P THANK YOU TITLI!

  • Right. Having spent many a year sowing my wild oats I think it might be time for a wife. Question therefore, Titli, is where can I get one like you? I'm aiming to 18 stone by March next year.

  • @Nosteratees One like me? I'm sorry, but I am a prototype which went horribly wrong...

  • Titli, I could listen to you say frangipan for hours

  • Can you make cous cous one day please dear naughty Tittle... LOL?

  • Fork the base with a prick. Pour on the Frangipan! Sprinkle your nuts, and pop it back in. That's cool, bakewell.

  • @TitliNihaan are we going to see the bazouki player again any time soon

  • Titli! I love you! I want to give you a big hug!

  • that looks so yummy! Got to make that! If I don't want to use jam, but pureed strawberries or something of the sort(because I got a bunch of strawberries left), how much sugar do you think i should add? If it can be done of course.

  • @BadBloodwillout Nice idea about the puréed strawberries! I think I would warm them up in a pan and add sugar a tsp at a time until it was as sweet as I wanted it :-/

  • @TitliNihaan thanks a million :)

  • OOoo Titli you do make a good tart ... not saying if it is you or the one on the plate :-)

  • ah Titli, you make me laugh :) I love your cooking as well!

  • "bad tittli, naughty tittli, dont do it again! hm, quite like dat" bahahaha made me lmao xD

  • Gah! Spanking! And it's horribly sexy. I see we both share our dirty little kinks.

  • Hi Titli!

is caster sugar and granulated sugar the same?

i know it sounds retarded :S

  • @TheVideoHuman Oh dear, I know I'm not Titli Nihaan but I couldn't help but want to reply. Caster sugar is powdered sugar and is also known as icing sugar and confectioners sugar. Granulated sugar is like what the name suggests, it's sugar crystals. Sorry to disappoint! :)

  • @zft51994 Caster sugar isn't powdered sugar, it's granulated sugar but a bit finer, smaller granules used for baking but certainly not a powder :)

  • @lokilaufeyarson Haha, okay.

  • @TheVideoHuman Sugar comes in many varieties. Going down in size we have cubes, garnulated sugar, caster sugar, then icing sugar. Icing sugar is so fine it is like a dust.

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers! Never be afraid to ask :-)

  • Titli!

  • Awsum O.O even tho i didnt watch the video yet, but since im the first 1 watching, why not to post too! :D
