The puck does NOT go backwards... look closely, you can see it on 24s from one angle and later 28s+, the puck is moving mostly to the left and slightly forward. I first thought of the same thing, it looks tricky because of the speed the player is moving at. This was a goal no doubt, anyone who disagrees needs to look at the video more carefuly, look at the yellow commercial on the ice, the puck is moving towards the goal the whole time.

The between-the-legs shot has been done for yeeeeaaars. It's not a recent invention. I recall a clip from 1995 or 1996 where Mario Lemieux scored with it, and I know it was around well before that. Nevertheless, it's still fun to watch, isn't it? :)

As long as the player is moving forward, it's fine.

true, but in this case, the puck does actually "go backwards" pls re-watch at 0:27+ secs - he slows it majorly, & as he is moving fast, it looks b-wards, but isn't...i've learnt this move; it's crucial not to stop it or push it backwards as you over-run it for sure. cheers nepo54.
