Don't judge so harshly. If you have a problem take it to Rowling, she was the one who suggested the name change for the United States.

@237cupcake Not trying to argue, or continue this quarrel, but in North America, Philosopher has a different meaning than it does for the UK. In NA a philosopher is considered someone who is "calm and rational under certain circumstances" or a "student of or specialist in philosophy" while in the UK it is considered as a person who practices dark magic, such as a sorcerer in NA.
