is anyone crazy enough to make the thing to be as fine as sand. my idea just make it flat and cut it small, then blender once hard. so that it burns super fast and create an almost instant "smoke wall". it will be more ninja like bad ass. because the longer the burn the more it disperses. but each has its pro and cons

or just add some oxidiser to the powder form and seal the whole grenade with duct tape so it collects pressure then explodes smoke

seriously best method for smoke bombs, but be really careful because i got impatient and i turned the heat up and slowly the pot got so hot it actually lit the mixture and i was in my screened in porch and there was smoke and ashes everywhere so be patient haha

@TheBlabla1996 It's commonly refered to as "saltpetre" or "saltpeter" (Stone Salt). Try looking in the spices section in your normal supermarket, in Sweden it's sold in small bags that is 40g a piece I think. Kinda cheap too, think it's like 10-15 Eur/200g

@BrokenAngelss you can use the fuse from an old fire work, or just take a match and light it on fire. Either works well. All you have to do is light it and you're golden.

Ok bro heres the thing with your ball idea the fuse has to be placed at the very bottom because it burns from bottom to top so i suggest getting a cardboard cylinder and cutting it in half. Then duct tape the bottom and all around to reinforce the cardboard. Pour the mixture in the tube and place a thick pen in the center and allow to sit for 1 hour. pull the pen out, put a fuse in and put a piece of a cotton ball in the hole to keep the fuse in place then duct tape everything again.

cooling in a freezer? it only takes max 1 hour to cool.

if not, try cooking at a lower temperture..

its much safer that way.. the shit could ignite.

@NFvidoJagg2 I never found a way to alter the colour. I tried using the powdered dye which didnt make the colour change, only the colour of the mixture. I think you need to buy some sort of special powdered dye that burns to create the coloured smoke and I have yet to find it.

i made this and you guys had the best mixture!

just encase you dont know how to measure in grams treat any spoon as 10 grams.

example if it ask for 60 grams, i just use 6 table spoons. dont confuse yourself. as long as you mixture is in 40/20/80 youll bee fine. i didnt add that much water, just enough to mix the solids.

@avengeTD I tried using powdered dye to make the smoke change color but it did nothing. Im almost positive food colour wouldnt change the colour of the smoke, only the colour of the mixture. It shouldnt change the burning process at all.

@mossman474 You either added too much sugar or not enough potassium nitrate. Try adding more potassium. And water doesnt matter as it just evaporates. So it wont make a difference.

I just went to a gardening shop and they had stump remover. If you look on the bottle it should say 99.9% potassium nitrate.
