  • You sir are an american hero. Helping the education of young people in this screwed up country where the education is going down.

  • my new favorite teacher! life saver

  • Damn... I wish I saw this when I was in 8th grade...

  • wow i watched this entire thing without sound and it still made sense..

  • If anyone is having problems with the sound in this video, switch the playback quality to 240p in the bottom right of the player.

  • i love how u explained it to us like were retarded but its so effective lol thanks

  • Now I've Got One Reason Why To Open The Computer.

  • wow, that made no sense...wish you had sound :/

  • I can't hear the sound on this video, but on all of your other ones I can...?

Do you think you could check that out maybe? I'd really like to hear the sound for this video. :)

  • what is the rule for the signs? i couldn't see what you wrote

  • Why doesn't it have any sound?

  • LoL. MY teacher spends 40 minutes a day trying to explain things like this. I come here and in 6 minutes i get it. Thx

  • Does it matter when you switch the numbers ( at your fourth example) from one bracket to the other?

  • You're awesome!

  • WOW, Thank you soooooo much! You just made me stop pulling out my hair! Again, THANK YOU!

  • I wish I was taught this way 25 years ago. Greetings from Saudi Arabia!

  • you. saved. my. life.

  • gotcha!

  • Have you lost the power of speech?

  • Hi,

    Sound please, thanks

  • for sound type &fmt=18 at the end of the link. it should give you sound

  • @zoidschica21 - It's curious that the "&fmt=18" is needed in the URL - but it does work!

  • i can't hear anything!!! :(

  • ...should there be sound?

  • Comment removed

  • no sound

  • now i know! HAHAHA

  • i love how you do multiple examples, my teacher does 1, maybe 2 if we are lucky

  • Studying = Done, thanks a million

  • Even though I haven't started to work on the units that involve factoring simple trinomials, your video has definitely made it look so much easier, and it's VERY helpful as well! Thanks for the video

  • I graduated college with a degree in physical education. I need to pass the CEST to become a P.E teacher. I do not remember the basics to pass the exam. Looking at this video helped me a lot. You are awesome! Good Bless You!

  • I loved this video. Very helpful. I wonder if you can help me factoring and understanding this step by step?

    9x^2 - 30xy + 25y^2

    Thank you so much.

  • ur REALLY EXCELLENT..HELPFUL...ALL THE GOOD WORlDS IN THE WORLD!. XD lol....thanks so much dude. ...i think the US educational people..superintendent curriculum makers are really dumb these days..why cant they teach us shortcuts like these and many others when they teach us math....so students actually DOOO understand!!...........then they wonder why the whole world is beating them in education......so F**DfsdfAS*DFsf redarded!

  • The bridges you make are so easy. Thanks you so much!

  • Hey, thanks for this video! This helped me out a lot. (I have my algebra final today!)

  • Hey, thanks for this video! This helped me out a lot. (I have my algebra final today!)

  • thank you, for years i've been having problems with this and this is the most simple explanation i have come across ... and ironically it works lol ... thx man!!

  • Thank you for this tutorial... I am currently in a deep rut in math and nothing seems to be working. I'm going to try your methods and see if they work :D

  • @tman383 I seriously feel your pain man

  • I would like to let you know you are THE reason I passed my test yesterday. Thanks haha.

  • Amazing! Thank you for making it so easy to understand! I get it! :)

  • thanks so much. I've been trying to learn this for years.

  • thanx u soooooooooooooo much!

  • if you're an actual teacher, it must be a privilege to be one of your students..

  • @LinkII08 Yes I am an actual teacher. I retired in 2007 after teaching Math from 1970 to 2007. Then I unretired in Junuary of this year and am teaching Advanced Placement Calculus and Math 10 until at least June 30th. Thank you for the comment.

  • @minkusbc i really do learn from your videos. i think i have to watch your videos every day. my mind does not want to compute numerical data. im superb with writing and reading. literature and spelling. but with numbers my mind just wants to shut off. i have to stop that and compute and remember all the numerical equations and how to solve them.

  • i get it now!! thx you sooo much!!

  • you are better than my math teacher lol

  • he teaches reall good l0l

  • you are the best thank thank you

  • Thank You....

  • My god, its so simple, i love the prize idea, it just makes math more, sweet sounding. very nice video 5 stars for sure.

  • genius, much appreciated!!

  • you are the greatest teacher ever! thank you so much!

  • Thanks alot for this!

  • this guy is a fukin genius...i wish he taught math 2 me....i wud have understood it so much better.....thnx for the vid...

  • good explanation

    Thanks

  • Directions: Pause the beginning and try the problems. Then, when you are done or get stuck, fast forward to 6:15 and pause to see the solutions. If you don't understand your mistakes, then watch the whole video.

  • god its like i got my old memory back & thanks a bunch

  • and i wish u were my math teacher

  • thanks

  • thanks a lot man, this helped me out, with a part of my homework.

  • thank you so much you just got me and A on my exam tomorrow 5/5

  • This is going to help me so much! Thank you!

  • I've been trying to help my son. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much.

  • very nice and helpful

  • OMG! THANK YOU! i got transfered to honors class and i do not understand shit!

  • Great video, I was rusty on my factoring it was made clear in a few min.

    Thank you

  • can u plz show me how to slove this factor x squared+7x+12

  • What multiplies to make 12 and adds up (since the sign on the 12 is a "plus" sign) to make +7. Answer: + 3 and + 4. Factored it would look like this: (x + 3)(x + 4) !!!

  • @minkusbc Respect! I would probably say that it's already solved in the video.

  • @fatjoe6789 that s ez (x+3)(X+4) because 4+3 he 7 and 4x3= 12

  • @fatjoe6789 Your dumb its the same as the first one he did but with x instead of p

  • Thanks my math teacher sucks anybody asks him questions and he laughs he pisses me off worst freakin teacher I've ever had in my life

  • Awesome thank you! You made this plain and clear

  • 5/5

  • thank you so much!

  • thank you whoever you are guy because I forgot how to factor taking pre-calculus now in college and no one ever explained it like that where it would make that much sense. Which is why I probably forgot it.

  • this really helped me

  • Excellent Teaching!Thanks!

  • thanx ur a huge help

  • You have officially SAVED MY ASS!!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • you the man Mr. teacher!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • For me the matrix method is easier because I'm a very visual person, I have difficulty thinking about it.

  • what is the matrix method because im not understanding this method too well?:/

  • Thank you so much!

  • Great video thanks for all of your help keep up the good work

  • thank you a lot.

  • thanks

  • u are a god im got a 100 on my test because of u THANKS!!!

  • This is just amazing. Big thanks for this trick. It's very helpful.

  • Wow. I just learned this today and it was sooo confusing because my teacher just goes over it and thinks we got it. Awesome way to explain especially with the "prize" "the bigger number". Thanks so much. U made it easy for me =]

  • Thanks so much really helped me understand, you have a nice steady pace unlike my teacher.

  • Your teacher does it 8-10 times a day.. for about 2 days EVERY YEAR.. they are tired of it :P

  • awesomeeeeeee explanationnnn!!

  • thanks for the help!

  • Amazing, I didnt understand the way my teacher explained it. Thank you for you for the perfect explanation

  • thanks dude. i think every teacher should use your explanation. it was clear as day

  • thank you sir, you helped me alot.

  • you're just AWESOME thank you

  • thank you so much, perfect explanation and actually explains WHY we do things. That's what stuffed me up. Because I knew what I had to do, but I didn't know why!!

  • YOU ROCK! That was a great review!

  • THANK YOU!! I'm in college too and just needed a little review...you saved my life!!

  • Dude im in college and totally forgot how to do this! lolol- im a bit rusty but thanks for all the help :D :D :D

  • can x^2-3x+10 factor?

  • no it wont

  • Here's a question, I'm completely stumped...

    2*x^2 + x^(-1) -3 = 0

    simplifies to

    x^2+x-(.5)=0

The second equation being a quadratic and easily solvable.. I have noooo idea how to simplify the first to get the second... anyone have a clue?

  • The second equation does not follow from the first. 0 is an element of the second's domain but not the first's.

  • No... it does. You've got to multiply through by x, then factor the third degree polynomial. You get

    (x-1)(2x^2 + 2x -1)=0

And then divide by x-1 to get the second equation.

    ...duh

    jk

  • thanks a lot......didnt realize it was that easy lol

  • This was extremely helpful! Thank you very much!

  • I wanted to write the exact same thing. :)

    Thank you

  • You made my life easier. Thank you very much

  • I LOVED the prize thing it actually helped alot thank you so much for posting its ALOT of help

  • all of your videos are a great help for my GCSE. Thanks for everything!

  • Pls dont delete the Video i need this to help me pass my math

  • thankyou!!! u are amazing!!!! u explained it with so much simplicity!!!

  • Thank you so much for this, you were a great help!

  • wow thankx sooooooooo much i have a pass or fail test tommarow haha. i think im passing this one

  • what should i do if the a is 2,3,4......?

  • See if the 2 (or 3 or 4) goes into all the other numbers as well. Then you have a "combo", see my videos on that. If not watch my videos on the hard trinomials.

  • Thanks man I have my final in about 3 hours you helped me alot thanks again

  • this man helped me get 10 As in my A levels

    FUCKIN LEDGEND

  • this man..is the man of numbers

  • what the fuck this shot doesnt help me at all im at fucking finals and im timed im not doing this shit FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!

  • All you're going to do is say what multiplies to make this, and add or subtracts to make this. Put those numbers in the brackets, put the variable in, and put in the sign. One minute tops, for each question. Patience...

  • Well, that's why you should pay attention in math class

  • omg i can do it now

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH :D

right now im leading up to 4 weeks of exams,

3 include my science GCSE's. you have lifted a weight of my shoulders with your videos, i am very very thankful!

my maths teacher had never called it a trinomial s when i got the revison list i was like WHATTTT!?!?

but you have helped me so much, itss only one topic but i am relly really thankful as it has saved me a hell of alot of tme :D

    onced again THANKYOUUU:D

and i';; defiantley recommend you in my math classs x

  • err i have a big problem what adds to make -5 but multiplies to make -12?

  • you are very smart, and very reliable. you always know how to explain things!! thanks a lot

  • but how would u do a problem like this where "c" is an odd number and cant be divided evenly like 3p^2-2p-5.. i can find a video on that kind of equation

  • That's called a "hard trinomial". See my videos on them, I have about 4 or 5 on that type of factoring. Search: minkusbc hard trinomial

  • how do you know where to put the numbers like (n+3)(n+6) or (n+6)(n+3)???? ur a lot better than my teacher!

  • EIther order is okay. If there were opposite signs, like if I factored x^2 + 3x - 18 = (x + 6)(x - 3) , then I could write it as well like this (x - 3) (x + 6). As long as the + sign (the "prize" which is the sign of the middle term) is with the larger number, 6 ad the minus sign must be with the 3.

  • how do you do this kind of trinomial?

    b to the 2nd power + b - 20=

  • Treat it like this: b^2 +1b - 20, that is make the b = 1b. Now, what multiplies to make 20 and subtracts to make 1? Answer, 4 and 5. So we now have (b 4)(b 5). The sign of the second term is a "+", and it is the prize that goes to the larger of the two numbers in the brackets. ANswer: (b - 4)(b + 5)

  • God thank you so much! For some reason I just didn't understand this when my math teacher explained it. You make great videos!

  • thanx i know this but i needed to refreash my mind for my test tomorrow.

  • Thanks, your videos are always useful!

  • I just wanna know how to do this even faster. I always had trouble factoring because it forces you to think "backwards" in a sense.

  • Thanks a lot it explains it a ton better than my math teacher she just kind of says ok do this, this, and this ok here is your assignment.

  • Nice job again!

  • Thanks sooo much your better than my math teacher she never teaches us anything!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you saved my life I have a test in 3 days on this. You speak well and dont talk with a baby voice

  • Great job! My math teacher is a French and therefore I do not understand anything that he says, but thanks to you I have understood this concept clearly!!!Thanks man! Keep up the good work!!

  • Video was helpful. Thanks man.

  • arent u suppose to do diamond.

  • There are many ways that you can factor a simple trinomial. This is just one of them. I factor a lot, I factor quickly and I factor accurately. This is the method I use, BUT you should use any method you can that gets you the correct answer with minimal time.

  • wow! thank you so much you realllllly helped me understand ! if you arnt allready, u should become a math teacher.

  • 37 years in the Math classroom plus a 5 year Math degree!

  • wow!

  • I'm telling all my friends about your vids. My teacher is foreign and has a strong accent so its kinda hard to learn this.

  • ur frickin awesome, u helped me finish my hw
