  • what kind of guitar is this?

  • If you like this, look up Josh Wilson's "Amazing Grace" in studio...

  • 7 people are...seriously? HOW can you not like this? Even if you are an atheist and think Christians are stupid, there aren't even any words. I think some people are envious of these mad skills.

  • i wish i could watch christian music videos(or just christian videos in general) without everyone else's comments. just enjoy the music that God made and the different talent God gave ppl.

  • Gungor is a band that takes the word "excellence" and "musicianship" to a whole new level.

  • Michael Gungor has more dexterity in his pinky than I do in my entire arm

  • very nice, thank you!

  • What's up with the 7 dislikes?

  • is this on itunes?

  • Um wheres the LOVE button!? :)

  • Aluno meu, fazem dois meses apenas kkkkk

  • Insane!!

  • Such a big fan of your work! Praise God.

  • 2:19 OMG!!!!

  • Haha the doxology Dave Matthews style... He is very talented

  • so GROOVYYYY

  • Sometimes the best way to worship is doing what you were created to do! Gungor is doing just that! They have been gifted with such talent! So thankful they're using it to further the kingdom! :)

  • stunning

  • good old drop d

  • Very nice.

  • OMG he is the christian version of Tommy Emmanuel = )

  • is his guitar tuned in DADGAD?

  • @philscosta

    That is my first thought.

  • @philscosta Yes it is :)

  • OH. MY. GOD.

  • I SEE ARCTIC MONKEYS IN THE CORNER!

  • 5 people need a laying of hands now....this was great!

  • I love to hear the fret noise

  • People, the arguing on here is so disappointing. Can we just put our crap aside as God's people for two seconds and be the body of Christ? We will never always agree on everything, that is a completely naive concept, but we can honor and love each other as we are called to despite our theological differences. This song conveys a message of praising and glorifying God. Are we doing that by arguing pettily over worship styles? We are called to be better than this!

  • Stunning!

  • WoW!!

  • Three people need to be prayed for.

  • Three people have issues...

  • AWESOME...

  • Why do people feel the need to tear others down in order to build someone up. Different people worship in different ways, but the important thing is that they are worshiping God, not how simple or how complicated the worship is. God is honored with anything we do as long as we do it for His glory and not ours. This is great worship music, but no greater than Chris Tomlin or others. It is the heart that makes it great. Not the music!

  • his playing style reminds me of Phil Keaggy.

  • This is insane.

  • Ridiculous. Chords that don't really exist... : )

Thanks for continuing to bend our minds!

  • @braveworldcom That's what God can do... to all who believes in HIM

  • God is not honored more just because someone limits his song writing to 4 chords (like Tomlin & others). Pride can exist in a very simple musicians, just as much as it may in an excellent musician. Likewise, humility can be found in both the simple and the advanced. Christopher Parkening & Phil Keaggy are very humble, yet virtuosic at the same time. God looks at the heart. I love the fact that Gungor has developed his talent and is using it for the Kingdom. We need more of this, not less!

  • @philosophy7575 Phil Keaggy also plays an Olson guitar almost identical to the one in this video...and he has 9 fingers. Truer words have never been spoken.

  • @philosophy7575 Michael Gungor is an amazing guitar player and all around musician . but to be honest god blessed us to praise him by music. Chris Tomlin and many other christian artists are just trying to make worship music for people to praise the lord. and yes i am a guitar player. dont go dissing other christian artists, there most likely better then you.

  • @philosophy7575 Sometimes simple is all thats needed. Some of the most powerful worship songs I have ever heard have been just a couple chords (How Great is our God, With Everything - Hillsong, and Give Me Faith - Elevation Worship just for examples) To look down on these artists who have dedicated their lives to glorifying God with all they have because they don't play complex guitar riffs etc is completely missing the point of what they're doing.

    Just my two cents

    God Bless

  • @philosophy7575 Similar to David Crowder* Band if you were at Passion 2012.

  • How very refreshing! A worship artist who is has actually learned to play guitar beyond the basics and is developing and exercising his God given talent in creative ways! I love how he is blending the Bach prelude, the doxology, and contemporary acoustic guitar styles. For too long, worship "artists" have abdicated musical creativity and excellence to others. Gungor is bringing it back. Excellent!

  • @philosophy7575 Want to start a campaign to get him on KSGN?

  • @KiraWei1

Ha! That would be great! Who knows if they would care enough to change though. I know a local broadcaster where I live only has a 70 song rotation and won't play anything else. Lame.

  • @KiraWei1 YESSSSSSS

  • @philosophy7575 Lincoln Brewster too!! :):):)

  • Gungor bestow upon me your ability to play Classical guitar in such a way! ha...very very good!

  • @bridgefender This is Classical guitar? What does that mean?

  • does anybody know where i can find the chords?

i know how to do the intro but cant seem to find the chords

  • @jimmyjohnny3 David played the harp as worship to the Lord which cast out demons and calmed saul.only God can judge what true worship is.R u saying that a bass player or drummer cant praise God w/their act of service in a worship band because they're not singing?Worship is not only singing,it's service,it's a lifestyle,it's giving back to God the glory He deserves.God has annointed him with the talent to play guitar,&the bible tells us not to bury our talents. He is giving God all the glory :)

  • @jimmyjohnny3 You're entitled to your opinion of course. For me, it was neither focused, coherent or insightful.

    Again, just me.

  • @jimmyjohnny3 Good thing Gungor isn't doing this for your approval, then. I'm sure it made God smile and tap his foot. :)

  • whhat kind of guitar is that? :O

  • @314kleb

It's an Olsen guitar. James Olsen makes them. Phil Keaggy plays one. So does James Taylor. They seems like fabulous guitars. I have never played one, but I love the sound Phil gets out of his. If you want one, save a lot of money and spend several years on a waiting list.

  • Can't wait to see Gungor on October 3rd :D its gonna be epic...

  • This is pretty decent, but if you want some SERIOUS acoustic playing you need to look at either tommy emmanuel or (of course) the great phil keaggy. *warning* Tommy will blow your brain into 1000 pieces if you think that this is amazing.

  • @johndknox I love both of them, Phil and Tommy, I mean. And, they just may be the better musicians technically. But I think it's a big understatement to say that this is just 'pretty decent.' To each his own, I guess. :)

  • Is this on an album?

  • This is so awesome!

  • the beginning of this song is so stolen from bachs prelude but still pretty impressive

  • @hipster528 pretty sure its public domain by now...been like 250 years. should be good to go. ha.

  • HOLY!!! CRAP!!!!

  • Ah-mazing!

  • That was absolutely jaw dropping.

  • 3 people can't play the acoustic guitar

  • And I struggle with barre chords. :/ This is awesome.

  • There are no words for just how utterly spectacular that was.

  • i don't see how there could be more than 0 dislikes. that was legit.

  • tabs anyone?

  • NAICE

  • I wish they played this at MY church! Thumbs up!

  • id like to see justin beiber play guitar like this.

  • @calebsanchezmusic1 Please leave Beiber out of this video. Thanks

  • that was soooo gooood =)

  • Just wow!

  • I think I'm going to figure out the tabs for this song. That's going to take some time :P Well thank God I'm good at music!! This song is INCREDIBLE and AWESOME!!!

  • he played this when i saw him 2 days ago((:

  • beautiful to pair the Bach Suite No. 1 with Doxology! Praise the Lord!! For he is worthy forever and ever!!

  • Gungor lives!

  • There is a song out there that is just like the beggining of this performance... I think it appeared in a movie..

    Somebody help! ha!

  • @kjadames Bach's Cello Suite I - prelude, in a different key than the original

  • @ericeplayer1 thanks man!

  • Anyone have a link to an MP3 I can download/purchase of this?

  • omy does anyone have tabs they can give me haha :)

  • Rock on come to mind!!!....lol

  • Wow... very impressive... very anointed!

  • You cant get better than that!

  • I sat in awe watching this video time after time! My Love for God continuously grows =]

  • so after about 4 days of almost constantly studying this video, i can play this :D :D :D not quite like him of course, but im workin on it

  • @AlexN5142 Only 4days, im extra impressed!

  • I had the privilege of going to college with Michael. Oral Roberts University, to be exact. He was training classically and playing for our chapel services and even arranged our entire Christmas program before he was even out of high school. (His dad is a pastor who sometimes preached at ORU) As far as I can remember, he didn't really lead worship much at ORU, but he was on the worship team. Very humble. Very nice guy. I'm so glad to see God using Michael for His glory. :)

  • If I'm not mistaken...he was a Jazz major in college. So...trained. Yes. Very much so.

  • imagine the tabs for this lol

  • WOW! That is amazing!!! He has a good given gift that was practiced a lot!

  • @christiandude07 @botsteele lol yes I was just referring to his playing style and his decision regarding the intro. that being said, as thankful as I'm sure he is for his success and his talent ... I gotta say that I doubt he woke up one day and was suddenly blessed with the ability to play as amazingly as he does. Musical skill always comes with countless hours of practice and, in a lot of cases, studying with a teacher. So saying ... "Not Trained" ... no, I'm pretty sure he probably is.

  • that was hot.

  • Michael Gungor: The only man who can get away with worship songs in a drop D tuning.

  • Simply unbeatable

  • Does anyone know what guitar he's playing?

  • @dgbworks It's an Olsen - same as Phil Keaggy, James Taylor, etc. play. Nice cars cost less - but don't sound or feel as good...

  • This is going to take a long time to learn

  • Praise God from whom all blessings flow, indeed!

  • excuse me, sir.

    sir?

    sirrrrr…

    sir, your phone.

    your phone is ringing, sir.

sir, im here to notify you that your phone is ringing.

  • Crazy crazy talented. COME TO CALIFORNIA!!

  • baritone guitar?

  • @tadisc No. I've read it's just Drop D.

  • so great to see Christian musicians who are committed to pushing themselves beyond pop music and simple worship tunes!

  • Michael Gungor. You are LEGIT.

  • His guitar playing is a lot like Phil Keaggy's.

  • <3

  • @some1islooking It's an Olson. No idea what model though.

  • anybody got any idea of what brand and series is his guitar?

  • if it takes me 3 years im gona learn this song

  • I think even a non-christian can appreciate this, just because of how amazing the music is.

  • 2:16 holy crap. that strumming.

  • Amazing. period

  • A full tab of this is on ultimate guitar tabs now. Added just about two weeks ago. Check it out (I didnt make it).

  • Gosh this is still so beautiful even after the 10th listen.

  • Roxology!

  • Where can I get the tab for this? And not just the intro either. Is it in one of his songbooks? I looked in the table of contents in some of his songbooks and couldn't find it. If anyone could lead me to finding the tab for this, I would be one happy person. :) Thanks, and God bless!

  • @Casander Bro.. I think making a tab for this would be the eighth wonder of the world.... But I hope God Blesses heavily the person who will undoubtably do it :)

  • Saw you guys last night!!!!! AMAZING!

  • I'm a lover of good guitar pickin', specifically, acoustic arpeggio. Really great, great job, Michael.

  • your god is a genius...

  • He's copying off of Bach!!! but really, love what this guys does (and if you are gonna take inspirations from somebody bach is a great place to start)

  • GOOOSEBUMPS!

  • whoever disliked this is totally lame

  • there is no such thing as god... go outside and look around...

  • @kukac1455 So only things we can visually see are real? We can't see inside your head, does your brain exist? How about your heart? If we were to open you up and look inside, we would see your insides. Open a Christian's heart and you would find God living inside them. "We live by faith, not by sight." -2 Corinthians 5:7

Of course I don't mean for this to be taken literally as to finding a physical being inside a persons heart.

  • @kukac1455 When I look around at all things, and their incomprehensible artistry and complexity, and their beauty and their grandeur, I think: who orchestrated all of this?!??!?!? I have my answer. Do you?

  • i love this guy

  • 0:00-1:00, wow, this guys good, its so beautiful

1:00-->to end - :O ONLY A GREAT GOD COULD CREATE A HUMAN BEING WITH SUCH TALENT WOW!!!!!

  • we miss ya at rez life gville!

  • goodness this is just awesome...anybody have any tabs or know of a video lesson for this? just jaw droppin stuff

  • One of the greatest i've ever seen. :)

  • i've grown up plying clasical guitar so the first part was easy to figure out but is there a way to get tabs/sheet music for the socond movment?

  • Doesn't he remind you of Leo Kottke a little bit? What a gift the Gungors have and share with us! Love this, could listen to it all day.

  • The chords aren't that hard.....but his finger picking/strumming is hard as eff. I tried and died. This man....LOOK HOW FAST.

  • He is my Hero.

  • Praise and thank God for Him sending us talent like this to enhance our worship. The man is truly an anointed blessing!

  • @pawpawgator fact

  • It doesn't look too difficult, but figuring out what chord shapes he's using will be hard.

  • I see hints of Tommy Emmanual in this. Sounds beautiful!

  • This man's talent is truly remarkable.

  • w.

    o.

    w.

  • The sound at the end is called a "harmonic." Easiest way to find out more about it is just doing a YouTube search of "how to play a harmonic on an acoustic guitar" and I'm sure stuff will come up.

  • how does he make that sound at the end and what is it called?

  • great song but even to difficult for him to play

  • waowww.....

  • im learning this... will prolly be one of the biggest accomplishments to my guitar playing!

  • @31285bpierre I have the introduction (first minute) tabbed on Ultimate-Guitar. Hope it helps!

  • @ieeewok yea i kinda got the intro. that was simple. its when he goes OFF thats super sick and that i want to learn!!!! lol.

  • Thank you Lord! This is to much for words! Talent like this is far and few between and God is getting all the praise for it!!! This is worship!!!

  • Amazing guitarist! Wow!

  • a studio without a TRIPOD that should avoid camera movements :P

  • the way he strums starting at 02:13 is what I like most especially at 02:20

  • 1:35. hehe nice

  • what is the tune technique? is this drop d? ^_^

    thanks for the future response

  • @samuy08 Yes, it's drop D. He always plays in drop D, whether he's playing acoustic or electric guitar. It allows for some weird (but awesome!) stuff. :D

  • TABBBBBBB!!!!!!!!!
