  • Wonderful!! I am privileged to be the present Warden of St Julian's - the church shown in the film - I only wish it got as full as that now!!!

  • Great to see this again. A wonderful film. Everyone spoke very "posh" back then didn't they!!

  • What a great old film. Things have certainly progressed with the new Tamar class and lifeboat station nowadays.

  • Excellent and very professional film clip.

I recognise the parts of Tenby and the old lifeboat house from holidays there! I wonder if Dennis Bancroft (the estate agent) was the fonder of the FBM estate agents who rip people off for holiday accomodation every year?

  • I believe Dennis was the founder, he has recently passed away and he would be horrified to think people thought he was ripping them off as he lets properties for other people by just taking the commission. We owe Dennis a huge debt for giving up a lot of his valuable time launching the Tenby lifeboat to save lives and running it's affairs for many years

  • You can't blame the founder for the greed of the present business, I'm afraid I speak from bitter expeience. I am quite prepeared to believe Dennis Bancroft was a decent and fair chap and I have no doubt that he gave up much of his time for the good of the community and life saving. However, values that I'm sure he upheld are sadly no longer the values of the present business and that is such a shame.

  • @flaskandsarnies FBM was founded by Frank B Mason - hence FBM!!!

  • @flaskandsarnies FBM was founded by Frank B Mason! I love this film - I am Warden of St Julian's - the church shown in the film - I wish it got as full as that these days!!!!

  • absolute gem! How rare is this. I remember the henry comber brown when I was a lifeboat mad kid in the 80's. what lovely boats the old double enders were, much more character than the new breeds

  • They certainly were, looking back into the history and the stats of the time the Henry Comber Brown carried out loads of services compared to the earlier boats. Maybe the equivilant numbers of today, but in those days they always seemed to be putting out in a storm.

  • An excellent piece of vintage film of the Lifeboat at Tenby..Thanks..5* Bob

  • just found this and am so excited ! I knew the lifeboat crew when I was young !

  • I have just showed my father this and he is so excited as he was a Tenby boy and knows all people in the clip,he now lives in Australia so he is over the moon with it

  • Yes there is but i haven't had the time to edit it and upload it. It's a bit of an anticlimax as the storm blows through and the ship is pictured on the rocks, in fact it was a shot of a real wreck off Ireland somewhere.

  • Is there a Chapter 5?

  • There is now ! or I should say there will be - i'm uploading it

  • Great video, thanks for uploading
