  • On July 30, 2011, an article in Official PlayStation Magazine September 2011 edition claimed that the fourth installment was to be announced soon by Crytek, stating "Gun-wielding monkeys are making a comeback! A fourth TimeSplitters title is to be announced soon."

    i hope it's true.

  • @IceInferuno You and every game you ever liked sucks so HA! j/k

  • @IceInferuno best game ever

  • decent remake. a bit too open, though.

  • @Mason1729 What do you mean by too open?

  • is the game still online? for xbox?

  • I heard it is, but who knows? There's always Xlink.

  • U can still play this game online right?

  • Not the PS2 version. I believe that the Original Xbox version may still be online if you have a subscription to live.

Also look into Xlink and XBconnect to see if they tunnel the PS2 version of the game. Just google them to see.

  • Well the ps2 online did't work but the ps3 one did (yes I have a ps3 that plays ps2 games)

  • What I'm saying is EA pulled the servers for the game.

  • Yes they do tunnel the Game. Do you play it online with Xlink or XBconnect? I want to but have certain problems in doing so.

  • I've actually never tried Xlink, or XBconnect myself.

  • after watching halo and timesplitters map recreations it makes me feel sad that they stopped selling the n64 it was a brilliant system, famed mainly for Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, but the Banjo kazooie games were nice too.

  • The second one never had online. They had plans at first, but they scrapped it at the last minute.

This one was shut down, because it was EA that was running the servers. I do believe that the original Xbox version is still online though.

  • They're not going to keep selling a dead system, not even Nintendo is that stupid.

  • Timesplitters 1 has excellent mapmaker themes. It hes Spaceport, Virtual, Gothic, Industrial and alien (which looks like a mine lol)

  • What systems is this on? i want it!!!! GE COMPLEX RULEZZ

  • I'm playing the PS2 version, but the game is on the GC, Xbox, and PS2.

Unfortunately, you'll have to create the map yourself if you want it.

  • I love this game, can you still go online, i heard online was shut down

  • The online mode in the PS2 version has indeed been shut down.

From what I've heard, the Xbox's online mode is still up, but I can't confirm that claim.

  • it is. they put it back up after making the game playable on the 360.

  • are you kidding me?! why would it be shut down?! They did that on the 2nd one too DAMN!!! are you saying my favorite game i am unable to go online?!

  • i miss playing this fucking game...

  • Oh you really need to play it again cause its the shit! check out my maps and add me

  • i dont know why im spamming my own comment

  • the jungle queen just got complexed raped in the butt!

  • Hmm? I don't see that. I don't even think I can mark my comments as spam.

Strange. I'm not sure why that is. I haven't marked anything.

  • What do you mean?

  • i tried 2 recreate some more levels, but i remember only "stack" in addition 2 those i already finished... i started 2 build "stack" a few times, but it always becomes too big :(

i wanted 2 create complex as well, but i didnt remember enough... :D :(

the other goldeneye levels might be quite hard 2 recreate...

  • i already did.

i recreated "temple", "basement", "archives", "bunker" and "facility" with TSFP´s map maker.

i did this 4 myself, didnt know its that popular... ;)

    gonna upload it right now...

  • I'm a decent map maker myself, does anyone want me to make a Temple remake and see what they think? I think I could do it, since all of the ramps and rooms in the stage are easy to depict with simple geographic shapes and corridors and wont require TOO much free either... Many weapons and rooms could probably be placed before running all out of free. Does anyone think I should take the challenge?

  • I have a pretty decent Facility map I could screenshot and slap up here. Users could then just pause and copy the layouts. The thing is, the PS2 version of the game is so annoying to use when it comes to the map maker. The frame rate dips so easily...

  • I actually have a Facility, and a Temple map saved on my memory card already. I also downloaded them before they shut the servers down.

I just don't know who authored them though.

  • Yeah, there were a fair few up there. Some were pretty good, others were very poor lol. You'd have known if it were mine though as the author would have had Raiko in the name. I definatly didn't make a temple map though. Didn't play one either sadly.

  • Wow... That must suck :(

I use it on the GameCube, and the only time where the frame rate drops even to the point were you can hardly recongize it is if you're on a huge map with allot of random items and people, and you have like, 4 people playing...

  • is anyone archiving all the best user created maps that were online? it would be a shame if they all disappeared, I never got my PS2 online to download any and it's too late to now I guess.

  • I also have the facility, and the temple on my memory card, but I'm not sure who the authors of those maps were, because they didn't put their names on the maps from what I see.

  • now you make me remember that I downloaded a decent remake of temple.

I have the plans of tenths of good maps which were online (excluding my maps) and I posted 3 or 4 of them on this site.

  • One of my fav levels, good job. I created a socom level on the PS2.

  • This isn't my creation. I downloaded this from the mapshare feature when the servers were still online.

I wish I could take credit for it though, but it was a guy named Gunslinger who made it.

  • nothin like it

  • it looks decent, but the locked doors look weird.

  • Well, the creator did the best he could with the tools he had I guess.

It's still a pretty faithful recreation of the Goldeneye/Perfect Dark map.

  • maybe the best he could, but not the best possible.

it is still a good map, especially in comparison with most of the maps which were available online.

I can't say if it is accurate since I never played the original map, but I've seen some bits of it that I can recognize in your video.

btw, I'm under the impression I have already seen the name gunslinger, did you download the map on PS2 or XBox?

  • This is the PS2 version.

For all I know, he could have made the same map for the Xbox version as well.

  • I played online on PS2, so maybe I downloaded a map from this guy. I don't remember having downloaded a good goldeneye / perfect dark map.

  • I hate EA they take down all their servers after awhile thats why i don't buy their games.

  • they havnt taken down their 007 nightfire pc servers yet.
