i disagree. phyllis was cool but i think whitney wouldve worked either way. i never said they had "pop" voices. call it how you see it. with whitney in the limelight none of those chicks could stand a chance. moving forward a decade, monica doesnt need these shows. she needs a good song and to use the vocals we heard back in the 1990s. shes not that old, her voice is ok. instead of giving into these kids, she needs to make music for her audience and call it a day.
i feel bad for her. she has a better voice then most of the females out (around her age). poor thing. she doesnt need a reality show. she needs some good songs and good promotion. thats all. now, females like brandy monica mya ashanti etc are all in the shadow of beyonce. it was like regina belle miki howard stephanie mills were all in the shadow of whitney houston. every decade has that dominate force. i want her to come back and blow like she used to. thats all she needs to do. PROMOTION!
First of all Miki Howard Regina Belle & Stephanie did not stand in the shadow of Whitney none of them had "POP" voices they were only able to sell R&B records Ms. Mills & Ms. Belle had some luck on other charts but they were signed as R&B artists the only person that could have stopped Whitney was Phyllis Hyman who was Clive Davis's first star that he wanted to take to the top until that found that they didn't get along Whitney would have never been if Phyllis had got along with Clive!
