I have been playing for about 23 years and am about to buy my first metal driver. I had a set of Ben Hogan Persimmon Woods my dad gave me when I was 12. They have all broken as of last year. I have tried some old Ping persimmons and just cant hit them.  I am reluctant, but its time to join the party.

@reflectivegoat ... I still have a set of persimmons .... they're excellent to train with because of the weight and feeling you get at the bottom of the stroke ... try it, you'll like it ;)
