  • lol the blonde woman sitting behind the soloist keeps staring in random directions.

  • I'm playing this right now, and OMG it's difficult to play it as strong as this man x)

  • The virginity is strong in this one. Haha just kidding :P

  • i love his strong tone, i just took a violin masterclass with a baroque specialist. He said that there are two voices, soprano and bass

  • I love a gypsy violin!

  • Thank you for posting this. I have just returned from France where I performed it (without a conductor, as you do here, but not as elegantly). Your performance was very influential to me when I was preparing it.

  • so clean really good!

  • I love his strong tone. Many players play too light.

  • @musicstudenteire Its actually supposed to be played light and elegantly. Heavy tone and vibrato is a part of the disgusting diseased filth they call romantic period music

  • @ModellMeister Romantic period is lovely. And having a rich tone while maintaining the flow is harder than a light tone, and more expressive. Then again-its a matter of opinion. I just find most play concertos lightly and I prefer a richer tone.

  • @musicstudenteire Isn't romantic often like this, the slow movements too sappy, and the fast movements too unpredictable, patternless, random, loud, unconventional, and contains many accidentals?

  • @ModellMeister What I love about romantic period music is its rich expression of its subject, trying to follow the hidden patterns of the allegros, hearing the key changes, imaging why and what it is trying to tell you. i find classical to predictable and formulaic. too much like maths, like an expressionless person. i play it and enjoy it for what it is- revelling in structure- but i dont adore it or enjoy it to the same degree. Different taste mate.

  • Not a fan of this guys style. Should be much lighter. The cadenza was quite good though.

  • @Carthsgtr yea i agree im learning it right now and i think it sounds better when it's played more gracefully

  • @Carthsgtr yeah thats what i thought

  • Bravo!

  • IM learning this right now but the cadenza is different. :'( anyhow, this is a great recording, i love Szabadi. Too bad all the other ones on youtube are 9 -17 year old amateurs...T_T

  • Imádtam játszani ... nem véletlen :)

  • well played. really like the cadenza :).

  • Yes, it's G+, I Mvt. (I as in roman numeral for first) i think.

  • 0:08 woman in bottom left creepy eyes

  • ive played this piece for like 2 years...i still cant get the cadenza right...but anyways bravo!

  • if you hold 6, hes a turtle

  • Wonderful

  • omg ! i so want a copy of your Cadenza solo!!!!!!

  • @rembrant711 the Cadenza solo is a mixture of some parts of the Cadenza of the german publishing house "G. Henle Verlag": "Joseph Haydn, Violinkonzert G-Dur Hob.VIIa: 4* Edited by Günter Thomas/ Heinz Lohmann; Cadenzas by Franz Beyer"

I played the Cadenza a couple of weeks ago- it´s not so difficult as it sounds=)

Sorry if my English is not so good, I´m German=)

  • this Video is awesome thanks for posting!!!

  • Best rendition of this concerto on YouTube.

  • How can any1 not like it!?!?!?

  • hoping that when i play this for my recital i will have it down well. im using this to study some parts.. very nice piece. considering i love fast pieces

  • the playing is a little to stiff in my opinion, I would have enjoyed a little more flexibility around some of the triplets and sixteenth notes.

  • Великолепное звучание! Hi! I,m a violinist from Belarus. It,s wonderful ! Without words! My best wishes!

  • wonderful!!!

    love so much this piece....

  • @124picklegiggles That is a Czech language. Where are you from?

  • @22standana Oh that's lovely! I am American, but I have family in Paris and around Eroupe.

  • @22standana I SPEAK SLOVAK

  • @22standana I am American. but I have family from almost everywhere else!

  • This is great! I truely love this song! It is not hard to play but it sounds wonderful!

  • I am playing this song now, it is a really good recording and has been very helpful!

  • Awesome musicians, what a great interpretation! it is a really enjoyable piece. The room goes along perfectly with the music, reminds me of he Schloss Schoenbrunn palace in Vienna.

  • amazing sound and energy! i loved every second of this video

  • Excellent interpretation of a very fun piece of music.

  • I love this piece. My youth symphony orchestra is playing this.

  • WOW...

    incredible

  • :O

    that was very good!!!!!!!!!

  • Really clean playing! This is great.

  • Vilmos is too good looking to be a violinist (although he plays superbly). He should be a motion picture star + television personality.

  • @Lactoris1 He isn't that goodlooking, but he would be in a Jane Austin movie or something.:)

  • Whoa this sounds amazingly light-footed, I'm inspired!

  • I am learning this right now! Such a great piece when played right.

  • @Violinfanatic so am i!

  • Expressive, stylish and elegant! Rich tone, and cadence to the point- which I prefer...

i play to this music, but i can tell you: congretullations xd

  • gorgeous. this inspired my own performance of this piece for my final exams.

  • im playing this at the moment. or, at least trying to.

  • @ArielCaasi im too.. i have to hear it for being in the right rythmen

  • Very nice :) I love this piece even though its quite simple but nice

  • Hey isn't this Haydn's second violin concerto?

  • Yes it is.

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY I think it means the first movement of the g violin concerto rather than g major violin concerto no. 1.

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY

    no it is not

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY

    no it is not...

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY NOOOOOO

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY

Yeah, it is. I'm thinking they're using the 1 as in 1st movement. I'm not sure, though. I was confused, too :/

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY It is. The title is telling us that it is the first movement of the G major violin concerto.

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY Concerto for Violin no 4 in G major, Hob. VIIa-4

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY Haydn's second violin concerto is lost.

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY that would be first movement, not first concerto

  • @YOUCANNOTDENY Peters' Edition refers to this as Nr.2, whereas Henle refers to it as, in effect, the fourth (Hob VIIa:4). Though in fact, it is thought to be the earliest of the four.

  • I just love the way you play this piece. Since I don't play the violin myself I have been forced (?) to play it on electric guitar, but it is so nice to hear someone play it on the original instrument.

Your rendition is absolutely fabolous. I will watch it again?

  • Sorry, no question mark at the end of the last sentence.

  • I don't know why this concerto is ranked so much lower than Mozart's. This is a great piece, without a doubt.
