actually it's European, Busking has a tradition that goes all the way back to medival Europe when merchants and shop keepers would invite street performers to perform in their market squares and by their shops to attract business. It's a long lived and dignified occupation...you and Bad Chicken should try it some time. It's fun :) :) :)
