I always carry shovel and chains, but if its bad advise people to park up best they can and recover later when conditions get better. In UK thats usually next day or so!
hey people..i drive a towtruck every day...if u drive in black ice u will change u comments...there is no shovel..tire chain..salt ..nothing work when u are stuck in black ice...only JERRDAN can do it ,i use my jerdan bed to get out from stuck
lol... did the one in the merc need a recovery truck because he couldn't get up the hill? What about asking some neighbours to help pushing? Poor brits... ;)
Question is....why do idiot drivers put all that expensive equipment let alone peoples lives at risk calling out recovery services when they get stuck in the snow?
If the roads are that bad (or your driving skills) don't go out in it in the first place and if you do and get stuck wait for it to melt.....like this muppet had to in the end anyway.

apparently no ne believes in shovels and some sand. These temps make it very slippy, but backing it down onto shoveled ground always works better.

You missed out the best bits!
Well done to all the drivers who went out in those conditions. You all pulled together and rescued many customers :)
Nice work!
