1280x1024 or

You could run it on very high but you would not be getting smooth frame rates constantly. Medium or high in crysis is like very high in any other game lol.

The p45 overall is a great motherboard. I have to been able to get my q9450 to 3.1GHZ. I am not sure if it is the motherboard that is limiting me, or just something wrong with my cpu.

Overall, its a great board for the price.

Its performance is comparable to those of the more expensive X48 boards.

I know i can play this game smoothly on high (DX9, 1024x768) with XP and these specs.

HD Radeon 3870 512MB

Amd Athlon 64 x2 6000+

2G DDR2 Ram

and a crappy HDD

But i'm soon to begetting a RAID HDD, Vista 64-bit, and 4GB of DDR2 Ram (i'm keeping the G-Card) would i be able to run DX10 smoothy on high- very high at around 1024x768?

Your raid config wouldnt really do anything to the fps. however doubling the ram would do a little bit of fps increase. The increase would be id say around 5 fps maybe. I dont think so, but it wouldnt hurt to try. Its the gcard that handles all these tasks.

I was playing on high settings 2xAA 1280x1024 with my amd 5000+ 2.6@2.8ghz, 4gb ddr2-667, and 9800gt oc+ with better frames.... and buddy said your cpu is holding you back? it's a quad core at 3.2ghz? wtf... sell the card if you haven't already and get a gtx 260 or better. screw ati they suck.

Yes and no. That was true a few years ago, when there were only newborn quadcores like the q6600's with the dual cores still going strong. Now quad cores are starting to get faster, and games are being optimized for them.

Are you sure you only can get this performance with those specs? Because I think you can turn on much more aa with HD 4870 with smooth gameplay. I have the same RAM as you, but I have HD 4850 and Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, and then I overclock the HD 4850 and the Q9550 , and I can play very smoothly on very high in 1280x1024 with 2aa.

i think with a HD4850 you can play crysis wiht high and maybe with Very high but with ultra high you get problems! and a i7 with 2.4 ghz dont excist at time this i7 with 2.4 come in the summer 2009^^

I'm able to play at 1024x768 on high settings with a single 3850. It gets a very playable 25 frames, but hopefully im getting a second 3850.

Thats an understatement. You should see other pc games lol. Even 5 year old games like SWAT 4 and F.E.A.R on pc look a million times better than XBOX360 graphics.

hey, a question. My system is:

- Pentium dual core 2.0 ghz

- 3GB DDR2 667

- windows vista 32 bits

- HIS RADEON HD 4870 512 MB

- resolution: 1440x900

In very high i get 10-15 FPS...(in ´high´ settings i get the sames FPS)

In ´Low´ i still get the sames FPS.

Then just for curiosity i put the resolution at 800x600 all settings very high. An just the same 13 FPS...

Anyone one what the hell is happening in my system???

in crysis at 1440x900 all very high, 15 is the highest, 10 lowest fps. do you think that my cpu is bottle necking my system? cos this is weird, the performance will increase if i do some overclock to the cpu and put it on 2.5 ghz. or should i buy a new cpu, a e8400?

Definetly upgrade your CPU.

It is limiting your FPS to 13.

Its all very high and with fraps on 1024x768 which is the max of my old lcd lol. Fraps did a good hit to the fps, I was able to turn on very high for everything and add 4xaa and still run smoothly.
