lots of fun! try setting your sluice box up the creek a bit and let the water run back into the stream so you can recirculate it and not run dry! the bank there looks very nice too! hard pack!
Guys, don't be afraid to get wet. If you can't see what is going up your nozzle, you are going to clog up every few minutes and spend more time unplugging it than you will actually moving with material. You need a mask and snorkel.
Since your machine is a small combo, you will move more material faster by digging up the dry streambed and shoveling it into the hopper than your nozzle can suck it up. Use your nozzle to clean up the bedrock and any cracks once you get to it.
@kerbyjackson If you want to REALLY get ahead, do yourself a favor and go buy Dave McCracken's three books on suction dredging which are available from Armadillo Mining in Grants Pass or direct from Dave at Promack Mining in Happy Camp and study them like mad and apply what you've learned. It will be the best $30 that you've ever spent and put you way ahead of the rest.

@kerbyjackson hahaha lol I was thinking the same thing. That water looks cold from the one guy's reaction when he set his foot in it. He'll want a wetsuit too. Guys, you gotta get in there, all the way. Wetsuit, goggles and snorkel. You gotta be able to see what you're doing. Its worth the cost. And you can see what you're sucking up, and see some gold laying there too before you suck it up! That can tell you if you're dredging right, if you find the gold in the riffles...
