Speed Kills/Lives sounds damn amazing imo, but not just because its fast, because it is fast in some parts and slower in others- making a dynamic. it has good chord progressions and melodies and sounds like a piece of music. playing fast is awesome, but that doesnt mean if you play a bunch of shit fast, that makes it good. because thats a bunch of bullshit. and imo in this video MAB just played a few scales in ascending and descending and was honestly to me fucking horrific.
Music isn't about playing fast or slow. It's about CONTROL. If you wanna play fast, then do so. Wanna play slow? Go ahead. The point is, you should be doing it because you want to and because you're translating to guitar exactly what you hear in your head. Don't ever let scales dictate what you're gonna play (autopilot). Don't ever let your lack of speed prevent you from practicing to play faster licks.
