Musashi is such a bad as, to anyone that is interested read his book called "the book of 5 rings", it talks about fighting ten guys. Its all in the mind.
I totally don't get it, the first guy just ran past him, and they didn't even attempt to shoot arrows before close range combat. Is there some sort of code of honor which prevents you from just lurking in the night and throwing ninja stars at your enemy while he isn't looking?
@ChinoMasFino Ninja don't duel their enemies - they kill them from ambush. Its the difference between a warrior and an assassin. Samurai had a complex code of honour and were of the noble caste. Ninja were of the Eta caste, the lowest of the low, and had no code of honour to adhere to. Their only concept of disgrace was to fail in their mission - and whatever they had to do to accomplish their objective was fine.
@maraton13 CD Japan has this entire series in a two-volume DVD set. There are no English subtitles unfortunately. You could read the book "Musashi" by Eiji Yoshikawa first and then follow the action along. When the series was broadcast in the U.S. in 1984 there were English subtitles but the DVD set does not have it.

@ChinoMasFino It is a samurai duel with swords between Musashi and Denshichiro. They are not ninjas.

@WarrenChu000 that still doesn't explain why the first guy just ran past him, also did musashi ever duel a ninja?

Nice. This is the first version where I've seen the fire trick.

@pixoholic what fire trick please?
Elmesias14 1 year ago
@Elmesias14 Musashi placed himself in between his enemies and the fire. As a result, while Musashi stayed warm, the Yoshioka were freezing.

@pixoholic Thank you. I remember that as he arrives later, he is warmer than them (in the book) but i didn't remember that part.
