Thats really strange. The pin on mine comes all the way out, without me having to remove the extractor. Maybe its because mines the 45 ACP version. But that really shouldnt make a that much of a difference. But ya love the gun, and like you said it does shoot low. Besides that no problems, shoots great, feels great, glad i bought it.
Great review, thanks! I wish Ruger would make these in a .357 magnum chambering. Offering 45LC (really too large a cartridge for the gun, as you point out) and then in .22LR/.22M with no adjustable sights leaves me scratching my head a bit. Even a .327 Magnum would be a better choice.
