  • Something seems off about the Music. Hmm... Must need less Blast Processing.

  • Thank god i grew with Nintendo (NES) and Sega (Master System), i play both Mario and Sonic and i love them.

  • will this work on the ATGames Genesis Arcade Motion (the little blue box that handily takes SD cards and works with most roms)?

  • Now do Sonic on NES.

  • Since this is 8-bit, shouldn't it be on the Sega Master System?

  • Swing your arms from side to side. Come on everyone, call your lawyers!

  • are there any game genie cheats for this?

  • the links download work with kega fusion?

  • this is only 8 bit!?

  • Lol blasphemy at its finest. It looks good though. Nice addition for my sega gopher handheld.

  • Needs more blast processing and better music

  • Comment removed

  • Genesis does what Nintendoes too!

  • @StickGuy1994 Hey! You're doing it wrong its supposed to be MegaDrive/Sega Genesis does what Nintendon't.

  • can't download, says its 'forbidden'

  • @4tt1 Description has been edited with a backup location to download the game file.

  • @KoopaMedia64 Thanks guy, but it's 1.4.1 revision rom, you should be put 1.4.2 instead.

  • Wow, this is win. Seriously. Would love to see other games translated.

  • thing is, somari is a real game. i mean, it's a pirate hack, but it really exists.

  • Sonic the hedgehog has been hacked for NES.

Time for SMB to hack into Genisis.

  • now i've seen two (fake) scandals mario for genesis and sonic for nes

  • Ugh, well fuck google, I've been wondering when somebody was going to do this. I remember (was it Naka?) that somebody said they had this worked in theory, and I remember downloading the ROM of this ROM cart...(it loaded, but I have no clue how to use it) that could supposedly read NES roms, but it was more or less of a secret. It was really more for the fun of seeing Mario on a Genesis, if I remember correctly.

  • (nintendo) mario stop wering pink!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cut mario for the last time you are italein not british

  • Dude... this is awesome, can this work with other nes games?

  • dat blast processing

  • Now lets just play it on a sega genesis...

  • The Overworld, Starman, and Lose theme sounds SO SCARY. The sound effects are basically the same, but I can hear gaps between the 1up melody.

  • ah wonderful Sega Genesis soundchip

  • sounds like crap with the music and parts out of tune

  • Love the Starman Gens remix.

  • Need more blast prosesing.

  • @hiram765 Was JUST about to make a blast processing joke. XD

  • @Ryusuta LOL

  • I like the one up sound.

  • how to download this file is not work?

  • Very good! You did all the code and etc?

  • 1the only thing thats better is the music 2: ther is a gap under the floor 3: its an emulator4: i dont like this version

  • Well,This is WAAAY Better than that Crappy Pirate Mario Game on the Genesis.

  • if the sound only got sonic drums :)

  • You forgot to use the 02:53

    HOW DID YOU DO THAT?

  • that way he gets to the minus world

  • Game Super Mario Bros: Company: Nintendo and Sega: Platform: Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis: Players: 1-2 Rating: E Year: 1985 and 1990

  • The music could be better, but other than that - superb! :)

  • :D

  • too many dialog boxes on the screen

  • Now you just need to get the Lost Levels on the Sega CD or the 32x. Haha

  • You're playing the hackerz game of super mario bros. 1 for the nes but... different sound. you're a genius man, playin' it on the genesis from: SEGA!

  • nice its just as i remember playing this like 8 years ago on my sega lol

  • @fromoldschoola You need a Genesis emulator to open it, such as Kega Fusion.

  • @KoopaMedia64 well could you at LEAST use the graphics from the

    SNES version of SMB?

  • @KoopaMedia64 where can i get the old version i like it better.

  • Sega Pwned Nintendo Here

  • any game genie codes

  • 2:17 OWNED :))

  • DAM SISTAH

    DEM BEH GUUD MUSICK!

  • Where could I download this version Maria?

  • i want to port smb3 to sega genesis, its the same way as this? and where i can get that converter

  • wat progrm did u use to this, or you can hck tjhis rom?

  • @SONIOGAMER Please read the description, that will resolve your question.

  • this can do better than sonic jam 6 or super mario bros. 2 (pirate games)

  • Comment removed

  • Music fuckin' sucks...

  • @gtiturbo18litre It's more smooth. It's actually pretty god damn good!

  • The music is way off, but still a pretty cool hack!

  • Now all we need is Sonic on the SNES and the cycle is full circle.

  • I noticed that Mario takes a little bit to speed up...

  • a bit too late don't ya think?

  • Wow, that sounds pretty bad...

  • its sounds like a "12" bit game

  • Nice emulation port, looks perfect. I like the songs.

  • Ouch, the miss theme is quite brutal on the Genesis.

  • I don't like how the music sounds. The underground theme is fine though.

  • @SonicPsycho That's why if someone ever ported an NES classic on the Genesis, there will be audio differences. The Genesis uses 6 audio channels while the NES uses 5 audio channels. For an NES classic, 6 would've been 1 too many.

  • @megamanfan3 I know about the hardware differences, I just think they could have done the music better still.

  • Now We Just need sonic 1 on the nes/snes

  • @ubbooh

Sonic 1 on the SNES would be awesome. With Soyo Oka's (Super Mario Kart, All Stars & Sim City) instrument samples for music.

  • @SonicTheJackrabbit Or Sonic 2.

    Better yet, Sonic 3 & Knuckles! 8D

Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 on a genesis would be AMAZING!

...Oh God....TO MANY IDEAS FLOWING INTO MY HEAD!

  • Wait, so Genesis does what NintenDOES???

  • @homerun1683 It would appear so. It would... appear so.

  • @homerun1683 Is there anything the mother @#$%ing genesis CANT do?

  • @DoixStudios There is indeed something the Genesis can't do, use it's real name, the Mega Drive, ROFL!

  • @strykah92 The Genesis must be a fake US I.D for the Mega Drive XD

  • @DoixStudios IMO the actual reason the American Mega Drive had to be called Genesis is the 2nd most bullshit gaming-related thing I've ever heard in my life D:

  • @strykah92 Actually, i think the genesis sounds pretty cool :P

The most BS thing in gaming to me is how underestimated the Dreamcast was :(

  • @homerun1683 AHH!!!!!(head explosion)

  • @homerun1683 Nintendon't what Genesis does.

  • I was asking, because the music is in low-pitch.

  • Is the emulation in NTSC or PAL format?

  • @CanLifeBePossible It was recorded in USA NTSC 60Hz.

  • This looks like the nes game being playing played on a genesis.

  • @SonicandInuyasha That would be the point, yes.

  • I like the starman theme better on here :3

  • Wow. And you would have thought that Sega and their faithful Genesis would do what Nintendon't. Seems that they can secretly perform whta NintenDO.

  • I download this game then play it. This Mega Drive version is solid . I wish they do the Super Mario Bros 2 and 3 of it. It going to be extremely fun if they make them.

  • Plz I want Kirby adventure for GENESIS :)

  • Mairtrus is a genius, and you're awesome for showing us his genius. :)

  • Two Player?

  • I'll take this over super mario all stars any day!

  • Except for the bad-ass underground stage, the music is kinda shoddy, but that's my only complaint. Otherwise, this is an excellent, excellent port. Kudos, sir.

  • I definitely like the Underground music. Still, this needs someone dedicated to upping the music quality.

  • This is what Blast Processing can do you!

  • @Deokishisu Yeah, play an 8bit game from 1985 - lol

  • The music is sexy

  • Am I the only one who likes the sound more on the port than the original?

  • It blows my mind how the sound fx sound exactly the same but slightly better and the music conversion blows so bad dued to the Genesis sound chip which is suppose to be superior to the nes chip. ie: the hyper star music

  • Sega does what NintenDOES!

  • it looks and sounds so much better than the original but i suppose thats because the genesis is a superior console :)

  • @Liekkek It looks exactly the same, thought it certainly sounds... different.

  • @yourfaceninety No it looks like 20 times better, get some glasses you old man.

  • @yourfaceninety no it doesnt look the same come back when you've played the original and not some shitty emulator version LOL

  • @Liekkek Good to see someone who's not insane.

  • @lordkhan lawl, I own it on the NES, its looks 99.9% the same minus some VERY slight color differences

  • @Liekkek ...why would a shitty emulator version look -better- than the original? *facepalm*

  • @yourfaceninety thats not what i said you fool l2r HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @Liekkek ..Actually that is what you said, you just didn't realize it... I've played the NES version, yet you said I played a shitty version, implying an Emulator version [that I haven't played, like the Genesis one above] is better. You must have a really short attention span.

  • @yourfaceninety actually i told you to play the original version and not an emulator version. but dont get upset because words confuse you, durr

  • @Liekkek ..You told me to try the NES version instead of an emulator version after I told you that I own the NES version... Are you retarded? Because if you are, that makes it okay.

  • @yourfaceninety actually i told you to play the original after you said this looks the same. you fail sir

  • @Liekkek I said it looks the same BECAUSE I own the NES version, and with the exception of having slightly more room on the screen/an altered palette, it does look the same. The person who made this deriectly ported the graphics over, he does not deny this, and why would he?

I don't even see what point you're trying to make, you're just making yourself look like a dickhead.

  • @yourfaceninety stop whining because you've been exposed as a fraud, it isnt healthy. just because you don't know the joys of retro gaming without the use of an emulator is no need to come and troll youtube comment pages.

  • @Liekkek Exposed as a fraud? Don't know the joys of retro gaming? What the fuck are you on about... This IS acuurate emulation of Super Mario Bros. on a Genesis. Its not just my opinion, its fact! Its what its INTENDED TO BE!

You are clearly the troll here. Dont tell me what I know or don't know just because you clearly have no idea what Super Mario Bros. is like on the real NES... Very, VERY similar to this. About as similar is you can get without being 100% exact.

  • @yourfaceninety It has better texture mapping and higher resolution. YOU CANNOT DENY THE FACTS.

  • @lordkhan ...the person who made this even says that the GFX were ripped directly from the NES version. This is an 8-bit game on a 16-bit console. Sure the Genesis is better than the NES in terms of capability, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a clone of the NES game, include the graphics. You fool.

  • @yourfaceninety That doesn't change the fact that he can run it at a higher resolution and with texture mapping. You fool. Hohohoh, you're quite funny.

  • The Genesis soundchip is so bad that it ruins even NES tunes.

  • now you just need to find some kind of 'writable Genesis cartidge' to put this on, and show some gameplay on a TV so it gets 100% real (I am not saying this video is fake :P, but this on a TV through a real Genesis would be awesome)

  • @SuperSZ You mean a Flash Cartridge? Like the Everdrive or NeoMyth? Those are kinda pricey, but repro carts are a good inexpensive option. The current build of SMB on Genesis doesn't work on real hardware, but once it does (hopefully with improved music), I'll probably get it repro'd or something and make a video response. I was gonna do a follow-up whenever a revision is done anyway, but doing it on a TV with my Genesis 32X CD is a good idea too. Thanks. :)

  • @KoopaMedia64 it works on the everdrive,

  • OMG THE STAR MUSIC IS AWESOME!!!

The rest of the music is meh :(

  • Someone needs to get a Sonic 2 on the SNES.

  • Wow I actually think the music sounds better

  • KoopaMedia64. I like your video.

  • The music is horrible, but otherwise, it's an impressive port.

  • WTF?! I have to try that trick their nice short cut to the warp zone. does it works on the orginal

  • LOL @ 1:51 "SHOOOOORYUKEN" ^_~

  • OMG the star music!! that was awesome. Impressive port =]

  • I feel like i'm hearing this game for the first time. Sounds so much better. The second level background music sounds awesome!

  • Sega does what NintenDOES.

The music just seems a bit weird, but other than that, I'm really surprised with this port.

  • Lol nice koopa

  • Blasphemy! >:(

  • I really like the music in this one. It's so smooth.

  • @NickArcade FUCK YOU 8bits RLZ

  • Looks good and all, too bad it isn't official though.

  • Sound is smoother than on the NES, nice.

  • You almost initiated the same glitch I love doing on SMB, overworld theme at ending of world 1 level 1. Awesome. I thought I was the only one who knew that glitch.

  • Comment removed

  • for some odd reason, i like the audio.

  • @Jaklub Good so I'm not alone... I actually kept watching just to listen to the smooth music...

  • This is definitely a much better port than most pirates looking to make a quick buck based on ignorance have made, looks like it plays just like the NES version.

There's some people who've been porting NES games to the Turbografx-16 and they also play pretty much the exact same as the original, you might want to check those out too.

  • @16bitFromSega16 Also, if I ever get a Genesis Flashcart, this is probably the first game I'll test out.

  • @16bitFromSega16 Don't work on real hardware, yet.

  • The gameplay is almost identical to the NES original, it's the sliding that doesn't work.

  • @TheMVRules Sliding works, check out my video, I slide a couple times.

  • Who idear to make this?

  • music is weird, but does look great. :)

  • Very interesting!

  • Are you a programming genius or something?

  • @zuschzero No no no, I'm not the one who made this. Take a look at the title screen, the guy called Mairtrus on the DevSter forums made this port. A lot of other people helped with the project too. I was just so impressed by it that I figured there should be a YouTube video about it. Please see the link in description for all the technical details.

  • Ahh okay, I just thought only a programming genius able to make this lol.

  • I never knew something like this could work. Very Interesting.

  • Im not liking the background music very much but overall its a great port!
