Bruce Hornsby - I've listened to his music for literally over 20 years - healing, heartfelt moments - he communicates in word pictures - really gets you there - another poet - out of the heart come the issues of life and he sings it!
Man....you nailed my feelings exactly. His music comes right outta the dirt and touches me smack dab in the heart. I've lived his "The Road Not Taken" !!
you know what this man you see is not only a mere man but know the type of rythm and beat that are played over there in heaven even God know him as his son here on earth by the way he give out his songs and how the songs are been absorbed by the listener. the rhythm encourage to listen to the song, i tell you that through that i search day by day the his CD to buy but can't get, because some people do not understand his messages.
I'm shocked at some of these comments. Every time an artist performs live the song changes, thats what makes it creative and it's called improv. Zeppelin never played the song the same from night to night, Pages solo's were always different. Hornsby is no different, he's a true artist and musician...and a great guy. To the people who make these bullshit comments, perhaps you should seek some pretty deep therapy and please do us all a favor and get the FUCK off of youtube!
The interesting thing for me is the fact that Bruce Hornsby draws a lot of his style from jazz. Even in the recorded versions, it's possible for a perceptive listener to hear the jazz roots.
And jazz is all about improvisation.
(Personally, I think The Way It Is and Songs from the Southside are a little too studio, to the point that some of the best songs have the life squeezed out of them, and hearing them live is the only way to get the real experience.)
as the one there that night and there the night i saw him solo back a # of years ago up here in cleveland im just glad as hell that i have more than 1 person watching the vidz from this awsome show!!!!!!!!!!! lol i would rather not through in my 2 cents.....i shall levae u all to the ol saying '2 each their own"...bruce knows who his true fans r....and thats all that counts ppl!
Would you care to post a link to the information regarding the musically insightful Zeppelin fans storming the doors to free their ears from the wrath of originality? One one hand you say you "love Bruce Hornsby" but you use words like "hate", "Chickenshit", and "artsy fartsy". Are these the same words you use to describe others you love? Perhaps the girls at the trailer park who mock your BBQ stained wife beater? Get an appreciation for musicians, or stay at home with the cd player.
Ahh Sorcerer, your name is no more clever than your shallow insight. When you grow a pubic hair, and show signs of maturity in other ways, such as the appreciation for an artist and their craft, perhaps you'll stop spouting such drivel. Until then, stop going to concerts, especially ones which feature such dynamic artists as Bruce....furthermore - go ahead and tell any Deadhead what you just said. If you only want to hear the CD version, put your head in the oven and put a really long CD on.
Pubic hair huh? I'm a 32 year old man. I've been to many concerts. I love to hear live versions of songs, but most people like to hear a version that is kinda close to what they bought or heard on the radio. Led Zepplin played Stairway to Heaven once live in a different version, and everybody ran to the exits. I love Bruce Hornsby, I just tjhink he sucks when he goes out of his way to be "original". Just an opinion. Thanks for your insults though. Very mature.
The only thing I hate about Bruce. He thinks he's being artistic by butchering all of his songs when he plays live. The people who go to concerts go to hear the songs they heard on the radio or the ones on the cd they bought. Not some chickenshit version you think is artsy fartsy. There are rare moments where a band plays a life version that blows the original out of the water.
let's not get too immature here guys...bruce has always said he's not the nostalgic type of guy, he's not the guy who's going to take you on a trip down memory lane. bruce's true fans are open to his new interpretations of his old songs, no matter if theyre far from the original. in my opinion, right now, bruce is at his peak as an artist. he draws from many, many different genres, and with his current band he is able to implement all of that musical knowledge into his "old" songs.

Asshole, no one ever left a Zeppelin gig because they played "Stairway" different...they played it different every night!
