The reason that they crashed was because the cop was not part of the movie, and was responding to a suspicious ordinance call. he was also using a different radio than the rest of the police that were securing the perimeter. the driver that was driving bumblebee was just following the script, and bneither of the two really were at fault. just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Also for all of you dissing the camaro because it fell apart please note that this is a STUNT car and not a real camaro. Had that been a real camaro bought at a dealership i'm sure it would have held up better. One more note - the camaro stunt driver walked away without a scratch. The cop had to be taken to the hospital.

They are lucky the car didn't catch on fire. The front end radator and engine are exposed and the exhaust system also. These parts of a car get extremely hot when running a car just for a few minutes. They could of caught the car on fire, or at least the car covers.

That's why you don't let movie set people around cars, when they know nothing about cars. It could of been a lot worse.

@LA7Dance Newer cars have more technology to have more of the parts break, but it eases the energy to going to the drivers and passengers. The "old" truck is not that old (2000-2006) and it has a pretty good sized bush guard which takes all the hit, but the bumper on the truck does get messed up.

The issue is the police not the camaro. A closed set with cars speeding of course the camaro driver would not expect a patrol unit right in his face when he is to be following up right behind the parade of autobots.

The driver stopped as hard as he can right when he saw the patrol unit, unfortunately he was going to fast and the ABS system didn't help.

The patrol unit got badly damaged on the axle and/or control arms if you examine the instant of impact. probably a frame damage too.
