Thanks for the info. I know there are many formerly great trails in the San Gabriels that are no longer there. Some are being rebuilt, however. Yesterday I went up to the Dunsmore Canyon (Dukmajian Wilderness Park) area above La Crescenta and found that the trails in that area are being slowly repaired or re-routed around washed out areas. Still much work to be done.
I went there last week: totally different. For the most part, the area to the south was spared the destruction of the Station Fire, but there is still plenty of evidence of it on the upper parts of the trail, even now. Down in the canyon, it is a different flavor of destruction; the fires denuded the hillsides causing all the rain to just pour down. The result is that huge floods have been tearing up the canyon. There is no trail anymore.

Dawn station burned :( You won't see the picture at 2:50 if you go up there. I hope somebody rebuilds that nice little bench.
