I've gotta say that I have very little sympathy for Paula. What we're shown in the movie are some parents who were busy, but except for the one scene at the beginning of the movie, they tried to make time for her, even when she randomly shows up at her dad's work. He puts aside his work for her and talks to her. Her mom tries to talk to her later on and is rebuffed. Unlike poor stupid Jimmy in I Accuse My Parents, her parents are simply busy, not neglectful.
A "gang" of pretty, middle-class bobby-soxers who hold up gas stations and sexually assault strange men? I'd "get" this movie if it were presented as a total male fantasy - which, let's be honest, it is - but as a cautionary tale? Did Ed Wood really think that the public needed to be warned about this "epidemic"? ***scoff!***
The way TVY is staged, I've wondered if anyone has tried to make it into a stage play. The way it's staged on film, it'd be simple enough to make into a stage play.
0:45:32 - This still makes me scratch my head in confusion...what kind of guy would not pick up on their intentions?
The Mad and Servo Theme songs are the best part. Great short ("He's in the zone!") and great riffing ("SAYS 'THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU'") Thanks for the upload.
The authorities are so insensitive in this! "Hasn't regained consciousness, and it's top heavy odds he ever will. Sigh." "Yep, pretty bad ...sigh." "Sigh ... pretty young .. seen dozens like her." "That plate glass window made quite a mess. Sigh."
I think the actors were aiming for "world-weary" but hit "bored" instead.
"Look at them jump! Just like rabbits!"
Rabbits with big guns...and...good aim.

No, but people who were willing to finance a film probably did.

@Kintoun2107 It's a reference to the ending of the 1978 "A Star Is Born" remake.
