Makes me think of how most christians will tell their children not to believe in monsters etc, but all of a sudden when they are 12 or so children are suddenly thrust into a world where demons, hell, satan etc are VERY real! and I never see any christians tell others who've lost family members who are 'unsaved' - ''sorry, your brother is right now being tormented by demons over and over and consumed by worms and is on fire continually screaming forever and ever!! ......Of course they don't ....otherwise asylums would be full!
So if Strobel [who believes the idea of eternal punishment is perfectly just] has friends and family who are non-believers, he'll be perfectly happy to spend eternity with Jesus in the full knowledge that his loved ones are suffering eternal torment in Hell? How screwy the whole thing is.

While many of my evangelical brothers and sisters were celebrating his 11-th hour profession of faith in Jesus’ atoning death in 1989, I was secretly bothered that he’d killed dozens of young women and in our estimation most were in eternal hell, possibly even a 12 year old, as he went to heaven. That’s when I could no longer accept that we really were saying God held doctrinal acceptance and adherence over behavior and justice.
Im going to sacrifice myself to MYSELF and make it so they must BELIEVE it in order to be saved even though no reasonable system of debt in the universe works in such a twisted way.
I know Christians who would say "amen brother" to this video, not thinking for one moment that it was meant as a satire. It's truly pathetic. Pray for Christians. They are so lost. They really have no idea what love even is.

So god wants conditional love, and will send you to a fiery torment which would apparently violate the second law of Thermodynamics. Though why would an omnipotent cosmic being settle for conditional love instead of unconditional. Unconditional love would be impossible if the threat of sending people to hellfire and the reward of heaven would be factors. Why invent such things in the first place. Oh well in a few thousand years people will stop believing this stuff.
If a real hell did exist the way that Mainstream Christianity SAYS it does, then people who believed in it, would HAVE TO state to these children that their parents are RIGHT NOW, suffering unspeakable pain and suffering at the hands of a God that we are supposed to find loving and caring!!!
But try to tell Orthodox Christians this and they will get VERY, VERY upset!!!
The guy is trying to show how ludicrous the idea of a pagan hell is!! (At least that is what I think he is doing,....and he claims that that is what he is doing!)

Any of Strobel's books are sure to be filled with amusing monologues. I got a good chuckle out of "The Case for The Creator". To see such incredible ignorance of science and on occasion spot outright lies is truly something to behold. Sometimes I find it very difficult to treat religious people with respect. However, I manage.
