JSOC is used to undertake targeted, "surgical" missions such as hostage extraction, targeted kidnapping, and "taking out" other important targets. well, what is "taking out" an important target? it's killing someone! if you don't want to call it assassination then that's fine with me, but what is beyond dispute is that this kind of intentional, focused targeting of a specific individual sounds an awful lot like assassination.

I misphrased my description of JSOC, I didn't mean that literally they were told to fire away but that they have been responsible for a lot of civilian casualties. If you read Iraqi and Afghani civilian testimonies, there are numerous stories about targeted raids assassinating various people (and oftentimes they're the wrong people). the problem with you right-wing types is that you see cannot comprehend that the military could be responsible for crimes.

JSOC is not some super assassination team, its actually made up of different special operations divisions throughout the military, (Navy, Army.....), and no one hides that fact, its like people want to make JSOC more mysterious then it really is.
