  • oh man that lady seriously needs to relax! Holiday's are stressful enough you know! Whew!

  • wow she is just all fired up isn't she! hey I love to see Howie on Lopez tonight show, that would be funny, to have him and George all on the same show.

  • anything to make the holidays easier is a okay with me! with all the cookies I need to bake this year, I save a lot of time if I didn't have to out to malls!

  • This is just a hoot! oh I wonder if they have the new sims expansion that is out for the new Sims game? Its on my list this year!

  • its a shame that people get so wired during the holidays and jump to conclusions, but glad to see he kept his cool!

  • ya know I like that sweater that lady is wearing, but I think I like it in winter green. wow no cookies for Santa?

  • dude, that lady cracks me up when she says you people. What is with the guy at the table? He sure is quiet and motionless, wonder what he is thinking?? Maybe what he could possibly want to shop for??

  • I'm definitely checking them out in the morning to check out the Cyber Monday deals, I'm sure they'll have them, everyone else is!

  • oh yeah, that lady in the sweater, she is really giving it to Howie isn't she LOL. Gotta love Santa's reply!

  • OH how funny, Santa telling Howie he never leaves out cookies and milk when he says he never stops by his house! This is the first one I seen on TV too!

  • I am wondering if these guys are going to have some good "Cyber Monday" sales we have been hearing about all over the news?

  • @carithers I bet they will have some good sales. I do all my shopping online and I can tell you that I consistently save more money with buydotcom thanks to the shipping. A lot of the other place low ball and then kill you on the cost of getting the items to your door.

  • @rhetta Can't wait to check out the sales. I've always been a Black Friday shopper, but I pulled a smart one and broke my foot a week ago. No way I'm going out there with a cast. So, I've been forced to shop online this year and I'm amazed at how good the prices are!

  • @bill - remember when we had to actually get up to turn the channel on the TV? I was just thinking how my kids have no idea what that is like!

  • @Bill and @Bridges, I'm with you guys. I've just spent the weekend flipping through the channels and surfing through my shopping. The missus hit the malls and I hit the sites with free shipping. Score!

  • - my kids are amazed as well at my ability to get online and do things. Maybe not as much as they can - but I do know a few things!

  • Sadly, i have met people just like that lady, suspicious of everything & never happy. Way to lay it out for the crowd, Howie!

  • LOL Yes, Howie is definitely humoring Sweater Chica, like she maybe dangerous, but he isn't sure!

  • After the things I saw and dealt with yesterday - online is the way I will be shopping from now on - that was some insane crazy stuff I tell ya!

  • This is one town meeting I would totally attend.

  • Is Howie not wearing earrings any more? I sort of miss his earring!

  • I love the way Howie speaks to Sweater Chica in the same tone one uses with people who should be medicated, but aren't.

  • That lady needs to lay off the coffee, take a deep breath and learn to enjoy life, and saving money!

  • The guys on the stage look like they're about to doze off!

  • Millions of gift ideas? WOW! I think I've got to go make my list - am I the only one who has a hard time listing gift suggestions for myself??

  • @SmileFlutterby Me! I can buy gifts for anyone, but ask me what I want? No such luck. Maybe I should start browsing?

  • Poor Santa. Guess the economy's even affecting the North Pole. Ah well, online shopping is ALMOST as cool as flying reindeer.

  • I wish I lived in a town small enough for town meetings to actually happen. . . with or without Howie.

  • online shopping is MY preferred way to go... now if only somebody would invent a transporter for instant delivery!!

  • @eisha3839 Transporter for instant delivery? I am SO with you on that! I love online shopping, too.

  • No worries, Santa. It's your spirit of joy more than presents people love you for. Presents, we can get at buydotcom.

  • Santa, Santa, you have to stop by Howies house...he is terrific and deserves a great present

  • No need to freeze time this time , Howie was perfect handling the red coat woman.

  • Red Sweater Woman or someone like her is present in every town meeting, everywhere. Howie handled her well, though.

  • I hate town hall meetings bur Reform is needed. Santa don't worry, children will be waiting for you.

  • @alisoncooper I agree! I'd totally vote for that sort of reform!

  • Free shipping and great deals are a good reform... without leaving home...even better.

  • Uh Oh, my laptop is freezing time on me...I think I need to head over to their website and find something before it dies a slow, painful death...lol.

  • Do people actually hold up signs in meetings like this? Isn't our voice good enough anymore? And the word...reform, sounds so presidential...lol.

  • In some town meetings, they do. as for sounding presidential... ah, erm, I think howie sounds much better than that. he actually cares

  • I wished I would of shopped online, I was in line early this morning...at least they were a bit organized except for the crazy person who insisted they were right....lol. I'm still not done, heading on over to find me some more good deals.

  • I haven't started my christmas shopping but definitely shopping online is the best solution.

  • I actually did my shopping online this year, due to the massive crowds and crazy people, I didn't want to be apart of the chaos.

  • Reform... a scary word but sometimes very helpful.

  • Are all town meetings like this? if So, I'm there...I love me some action. That Lady sure scares me though, I would probably sit back and watch...lol.

  • It's cold outside so doing our shopping from home is the best option.

  • I do MOST of my holiday shopping online. Must check out buydotcom this year.

  • shopping? on black friday? nope, I lock the doors and windows and stay home!

  • I wouldn't DARE go shopping on Black Friday. I would, however, consider leaving cookies and milk out for Howie.

  • I totally avoided BF by being broke this week, we'll be able to finish up next week & do a lot of it online, I hate crowds!

  • The first thing he says is, "If you would just listen.." I think he knows he's about to meet with resistance. Hopefully everyone left happy!

  • Cyber Monday ftw. I've never gone out on Black Friday and have done my shopping online as much as possible for years.

  • That lady sure was very vocal. Good for Howie for standing his ground.

  • I wonder if the lady in the Christmas sweater is shopping today (black friday) and thinking maybe she should of listened to Howie? LOL

  • Thought I was watching a episode of desperate housewives there for a moment. And Howie's the man of the hour....lol.

  • I have to agree the lady is dressed in spirit but yet is talking all crazy...makes me think twice about attending a town hall meeting. Why would they bring up reform anyway?

  • Howie was the best choice to hold this type of forum. He sure tells it like it is!

  • I'd like to think that no one could be against saving money, but I know there are people out there who are suspicious of everything, way to tell them Howie!

  • I like Howie's tone like the snowman sweater lady is an idiot..."No..." like he's talking to a two-year-old :D

  • Hey!! That Santa dude looks strangely familiar!! A little bit like my Daddy! Wish I could post photos here LOL!

  • I've been trying desperately for the past 10 minutes to read the signs people are holding. It's an obsession now. :|

  • I don't think this video is so much a town forum as it is a town debate. Way to go Howie.

  • I feel badly if people in retail stores (or, uh, elves) are losing their jobs because of online shopping... but at the same time I like saving money. Oh boy do I like saving money.

  • I kind of like going to the actual store and seeing stuff with my own eyes... I would only shop online if there was a 100% guarantee that what I was getting was going to be as good as what I got in store, and that it was going to get here before the holidays so that I could check it out and return it if I needed to.

  • @electricorangeful Too funny! I was thinking Howie could fit into a couple of "minority" groups (bald, earring'ed, able to stop time) but I forgot "Canadian".

  • By "you people" did she mean Canadians? :-D

  • Okay, I can't be the only one who is extremely amused with the Ugly Christmas Sweater that woman is wearing. My workplace is having an Ugly Sweater Contest this holiday season and I think she could possibly be a contender.

  • I think her horrible sweater is the Alpha horrible sweater. It is the source from which all hidious holiday sweaters flow. >.>

  • LOL @ "you never stopped by my house!" It's true - Howie would've celebrated Chanukah, would he not? Anyway, super funny.

  • For someone who's dressed so festively, that lady sure doesn't get that it's not all about how much you spend, does she? I love the holidays, but I think I love saving money more!

  • Boy that lady sure had a lot to say didn't she?? But, I think Howie explained everything beautifully.

  • The phrase 'you people' should be banned. Nothing nice ever follows it! Howie sure kept his cool though - he knew he had good stuff to tell em about!

  • I love this time of year and Santa, but don't think I could ever go to a meeting like this. My Town is too big, maybe if I move to a small town. Then maybe get the true feeling of Christmas.

  • @hippieonarun True, the simple things tend to get lost in the rush of the big cities.

  • There is always one crazy woman in the bunch...lol. And poor Santa, worried about his workers being laid off...see it can even happen in the North Pole.

  • I don't think we need to hear any more political words like reform...how about refunds, rebates and stuff for the kids...Yah!!! I am all for Christmas and the spirit of giving!!!

  • Bring on the shopping reform! Poor Howie wasn't expecting that mean lady, was he?

  • Actually its better for Santa, makes his job easier I think. All the Big Kids get the good toys, and all the little elves and make all the little kids their toys. Great job Howie, you always find a way to crack me up.

  • @pandalover - bring on the awesome big kid toys!! I am so sick of flannel shirts and socks as gifts I could hurl!!

  • shopping reform sounds like a good idea. unlike any kind of government reform, which is usually a waste of time... hrm.. howie for pres?

  • When I attend condo meetings or school meeting I hate those type of people that think they know everything. The woman really reminds me of a neighbor of mine in condo meeting...

  • @cyndicastel, I completely agree with you on that! I hate when people get loud and obnoxious at these types of meetings. Why can't they learn to express their opinions without shouting?!

  • Town Hall meetings can be very interesting. I would love to attend one with Howie...free shipping and discounts, maybe a free small gift for every purchase...

  • The word reform just scares people out but sometimes is needed...for the best.

  • Howie got told...and that woman was kind of grouchy if I might say...kind of like a woman scrooge.

  • Does that mean the jolly old elf will have to pay unemployment?

  • I would have loved to been at that town hall meeting. I know I would have backed Howie up. lol

  • Not always does reform mean something good, but in this case I believe it does.

  • absolutely! We need more shopping reform!

  • I love shopping online, especially at this time of year, you completely avoid the hassle and the crowds!

  • You know, I could see this kind of thing happening at my local town board meeting. Sad but true. So much drama over the word reform.

  • This has got to be a better way to shop for Christmas rather than standing in line at 3 in the morning in the freezing cold waiting for a good deal on one little digicam!

  • I'll go along with that, I hate standing in line

  • me too.

  • @LillyBean, I did the line thing exactly one time because my wife said we just had to get this one thing for the spoiled rotten offspring. Never again. Have credit card, can click.

  • Vic, you're a better man than I am. My wife tried to get me to do the line thing and I bribed my way out of it. Now we do all our shopping online and seriously, we enjoy the holidays a whole lot more. Just takes so much of the pressure off.

  • @RandlVid I bribed my husband tonight tonight, the night before Thanksgiving, to go to Wally World for me. He told me it was pretty bad.

  • I hope he wore Hockey Pads, or maybe some sorta body armor. Dangerous out ther in the queue, worse than any mosh pit going.

  • @Tourmystery I somehow talked my room mate into stopping at Meijer for me last night and she said never again will she go shopping there the day before Thanksgiving. LOL

  • @gvsu0912 I take it your room mate doesn't do the black Friday shopping then? She's missing out!

  • If it was bad the night before Turkey Day, can you imagine what it's like today. I am in front of the computer with my list clicking and shopping and watching the Rose Bowl. Only way to shop!

  • Oh Hen, me too. What did we do before we had remote controls, laptops, picture in picture sports, and holiday shopping online? Remember those days when we were chasing around like schlubs on Christmas Eve because we put it off so long?

  • I did feel bad for Howie, but he seemed to come out the winner during this little debate.

  • Another great thing about online shopping... (learning from experiance right now) you can do it when your sick and you don't have to worry about passing the germs around.

  • @rest329

Good point! Otherwise you can say it's a way to not get sick!

  • Maybe that's why Howie is so enthusiastic about buydotcom. After all, he's a germaphobe in real life!

  • Oh, Howie, you gotta leave the cookies and milk! I know too many people like that woman, it's too bad, too.

  • That woman really needs to chill out. Holiday shopping reform is a wonderful thing!

  • How would online shopping take jobs from Santa's people? They can still do the homemade stuff from the big guy, right?

  • LOL! The angry lady has no computer, she can't shop online! That's my only answer for her being so against shopping reform.

  • I would have to say this is one reform I don't mind.

  • Just saying the word reform got him a tirade from that one lady - has it become a four-letter word?

  • Apparently in some circles, reform is the dirtiest of dirty words.

  • She did seem to get quite worked up over the mere thought of shopping online. I wonder what her problem is? Maybe she owns a mall!

  • For real! The whole online shopping revolution seems to have put a cap on how much those mall owners can charge for rent these days!

  • Maybe, or maybe the mall owner planted her there to cause a scene!

  • @JessiesGranddaughter Yes it has. Government talks about reform. Yet, little changes in the way of true reform.

  • Pretty much yeah. Reform I guess means "we're gonna take all your stuff" or something these days.

  • Howie did a great job answering all this woman's questions. Maybe that's why he makes such a great spokesperson.

  • Shopping online + free shipping = less stressful and less expensive holidays.

  • They do have some great deals there. I'll probably do some of my Christmas shopping with them!

  • I never went to a town hall meeting but I believe is similar to the condo meeting I have from time to time. Anyone agrees....

  • Shame on you Santa. You always forget Howie christmas gift. Not good.

  • Maybe this video should have been called the town hall debate. But.... I think Howie won out in the end.

  • Aw, I don't want to see Santa and his people unemployed during the holidays. Hey, someone still needs to deliver the gifts, right? Maybe BDC and Santa can work something out :)

  • Those people at the meeting can just go fight the crowds at the mall. I'm doing my shopping online!

  • Free shipping, what could be better? No lines! No tweens.. yeah that's even better.

  • I was trying to play vectorman, and got redirected to this page somehow wtf?

  • Good job Santa knowing that fast who leaves out the good stuff and who doesn't! But bad news for Howie, eh?

  • wouldn't it be nice if politicians paid as much attention to town meetings as Howie does?

  • Yeah, and wouldn't it be great if pols stated the facts right out like Howie instead of spinning everything? I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen though!

  • I need to get my mom over her fear of paying for things online. My wishlist runneth over.

  • I actually just bought a new fm transmitter from them. I'm not entirely sure it's the ideal model I wanted, but for a high quality transmitter for $12 and free shipping? I couldn't turn it down. Worst- case I'll have a really awesome backup for when mine bites it!

  • I'm actually always surprised when I start shopping online for something and then realize buydotcom has it. I used to just go to them for electronics, but now I check there first any time I start online shopping.

  • This video made me giggle! I could so.... see my mother in law at that town meeting giving Howie a hard time. lol

  • Glad to see I'm not the only one who watched this and though of my in-laws!

  • I left cookies and milk last year and didn't get anything. Maybe I should start leaving homemade cookies instead of Oreos?

  • @yourauntiegrizelda psh, I would leave you presents for Oreos right now!

  • Ohhh so that's why Santa stopped coming by :-P

  • hahahaaa...of course! Go to leave some cookies for the man!

  • you got to be fierce when shopping...online or off! LoL

I love shopping online especially when I can get better deals than I would get in a store!

  • cmrducks1 -- I agree with you 100%. Before online shopping, I absolutely hated shopping at Christmas or any time of the year for that matter.

  • Same here, can't pay me enough to go browse a store for any reason. It's an "in, get it, out" time of year for me.

  • Online shopping is great no doubt but I also enjoy browsing the aisles...before the rush starts. Once we get to Thanksgiving you can't pay me to go browse aisles! lol

  • Yeah, browsing the aisles is fun until you have a face down with some crazed woman who drives her cart like a fully weaponized Hummer and will have the last whatever you had the misfortune of just picking up. Online shopping. All the way.

  • @jackhughesful That's one reason my wife refuses to go shopping on black friday. Shes all about getting the best deal but for her its not worth the pushing and shoving.

  • Before there was online shopping, I hated buying Christmas gifts. Now, it's actually rather enjoyable!

  • I always enjoyed it, back when I was young and foolish. Took it as a challenge, to get through the holiday crowds with all my limbs intact.

  • Note to self: don't forget the cookies and milk this year!

  • Oh man.... I always thought Santa liked cheese and scotch! Oh well....

  • Ditto on the scotch. Mmmmmm... Chocolate Chip Cookies and Scotch.... YUM

  • I'm not sure why anyone would go to the mall at this time of year. I personally stay away during the months of November, December, and the early part of January. Online shopping is so much simpler!

  • LOL...didn't know Santa had "people" he is riding the wave, isn't he?

  • Hahaha, for sure! Santa needs that entourage to make him feel important the other 364 days of the year ;)

  • Milk.. that's the key.. I keep forgetting the milk..

  • I love shopping online. It's the best thing ever, especially free shipping. I hate people, for the most part, so shopping in stores is the worse thing about holidays.

  • Now I know why Santa doesn't visit me anymore.. I forgot to sit out the cookies & milk!

  • Santa doesn't stop at Howie's house? He must be a bad boy!

  • It's a riot waiting to happen!!

  • Sitting in front of the computer browsing millions of items to buy with no shipping? Sorry Santa - I'll probably eat all the cookies before you can get here!

  • Howie for president? hehe

  • Snowflake sweaters should be banned! Who's with me on this? We'll bring it up at the next town hall meeting.

  • @brotp4eva What's wrong with snowflake sweaters?? As long as they're worn once a year... and not in public

  • Shopping reform... now that's an issue I can get behind!

  • Or a meeting against saving money? That's just crazy talk! I'm all about saving money this time of year.

  • Yeah add me to the list of the confused! You won't hear me complain about being able to get all my Christmas stuff sitting at my desk and with no shipping charges! Beats fighting the mall crowds!

  • lol, no kidding! It just goes to show that some people will complain about ANYTHING!
