yeah i was thinking about ordering the G&G M14 EBR off of airsoft gi i dunno if they even ship to military fpo/ap but since im hoping they do how reliable is it from then to now is it still holding up good? I dont want to buy it and then have it break down when im buying all this shit for the m14 specifically although maybe the unnecessary attachments would weigh it down but still would look sexy.
@pwnerranger yeah i turn 14 in dec. and i've shot a ton of airsoft guns. my only recommendation is go and take a firearms safety course so you know how to properly treat it. It might not shoot bullets but it is and still should be treated like the real deal. i tooka hunter's safety course and and taught me firearm safety and other things involving hunting. take safety courses so we don't have another SB 798
@TheAceCaliber would they let me if i have muscular dystrophy( a type of mucle disorder that makes me basicly not be "as" strong or fast as other people). But I can do stukk like walk, jog, etc.

Why would the Classic Army and G&G platforms be the best? Mags are expensive as all hell. Tokyo Marui makes an extremely reliable m14, idk about upgradability, but I've seen them shooting 400 fps and up, and mags are easier to come by, and cheaper.
so...I don't know G&G internals very well...sounds like they've been sort of upgraded with this gun? I know a tightbore 6.01 wouldn't affect anything, but would a spring bringing this gun up to 550 fps abouts...would that stress the internals too much to the point where I would have to upgrade other internal parts?

i got the we scar. yes it had some problems at first but it got better. i got the gen 3 version which has a reinforced buttplate and internals to handle co2. you should get a gen 3 one and put about 500 rounds through it and see how well it does. ive got the green gas version but imma perchase a co2 mag to see how it does. i dont like the green gas mag bc on full auto it cools down FAST and freezes and jams but i think the co2 mag will fair better on full auto

@shortypimpo101 NO! a $30 gun is waste of money. The cheapest M14 that will actually be good is the CYMA M14 which will cost you about $145. you can get at airsoftgiDOTcom If you want something that is good and will last more than a few days you have to pay for it.
The scar runs perfectly with green gas, and doesnt suck at all. The CO2 version should never gotten out for sales, cuz it destroy itself :( personally i have the green gas version and shot well over 10k bb's thru it, and not ONE single time ive had a problem :3 just letting everyone know :) sorry if some Words Are spelled wrong, i'm from norway and its the middle of the night :3

The PDW you've been testing, has the rearward portion of the lower receiver cracked? I've heard of a couple of reports of it breaking, one of which broke after two mags.

@LieutenantScout Yes , actually it does ... A support weapon is defined by ammo capacity and sustainability of fire , not caliber . An M249 is a support weapon despite it's 5.56 caliber . AN RPK is a support weapon , and it's only difference from an AK is the barrel length and the integral bi-pod.

An L86 is a support weapon, yet has a 30 round magazine of the M16. A support weapon has a heavier barrel and beefed up internals to make in withstand the amount of pressure, and long term firing. If you try to use a regular gun for support gunning, it won't last long. An RPK has longer, and heavier barrel. Which makes it that support weapon.

The only problem with your fits like a glove statement is that magazines go inside the gun, whereas gloves go around the hand. I'm going to shut up now.
WE SCARL seems to have a high lemon rate, I too have heard nothing but problems all across WE's first 3 gens with improvements on their 4th. A local AS field owner recently got the WE PDW, it has a very nice feel (a bit too small for my tastes and my frame) but he can't get it shooting under 350FPS for CQB even after installing an NPAS and running duster though it could be his crony.
@headlesschicken6661 I have the PDW as well and it does work much better than the SCAR . The only real issue I have had with it is the bolt catch . It tends to catch randomly, and not always when the mag is empty.Kind of a bitch when you're 5 rounds into a fresh mag and the bolt locks back .. I'm sure some tinkering with the spring will resolve it , but it's annoying. I've been wanting the WE M14, but after the issues with the SCAR an PDW , I'm hesitant. KWA GBB M4's this year ... can't wait!
@krazjoka WE makes some pretty awesome and easily available GBBRs, don't get me wrong but they have a lot of cracks in their production to fill in. The M14 doesn't seem to have any issues so far, their dimensions are almost comparable to real steel M14s that supposedly the real wooden furniture can be made to fit. I've shot almost all of WE's lines minus the M14, pretty sweet stuff but their pistols suck ass; easily breakable after short term usage even with proper cleaning and maintenance.
@headlesschicken6661 Agreed on the pistols.. I've had 2 and they both crapped out. I'va had much better success with KWA pistols. The price range is stellar on the GBBR's , just wish they were a bit more reliable. I'll have to fingerbang one of the M14's before I invest .
Yeah I think gas blow back rifles still have a means to go in the realism/performance/and overall value department. You can get high end AEGs at the price (like KWAs and VFCs) and the GBR still needs more mods out of the box.
I think you got a lemon scar, and you also shouldn't really use Co2 because the scar wasn't designed for Co2 pressure... Mine works fabulously after I installed a RA-tech Npas system (and has been for 5k rounds)
@TheFatAssCat if that is the case then we got two lemon scars.. They arent worht it at all they are a cool paper weight and we do not endorse the purcahse of them. It requires way to much to get them functional out of the box!
@TAS801 Thats odd. Were they both Co2 because the WE scar will break VERY quickly if you run Co2 through it. Anyway yea, not here to run a youtube fight...
@TAS801 I've put about 25000 rounds through my SCAR-L and it's never failed me yet. The little tool that comes with it is crap and I find the rails are too sharp along the edges. Other than that, best GBB I have had yet.

WE scar--- CO2? That's ur problem right there. I wouldn't use C02 with WE gbb's. There are many WE gbb rifles(m4/scar) out there with upgraded steel internals and function perfectly.

@Carrim1 9.6v is the max recomended. GI also says that the battery compartment is a little too small, I'd watch the full review from airsoft GI, is it a good weapon?
Its magnesium. G&G likes magnesium. In my experience, its just as rigid as aluminum and weighs less. But of course, I don't think its a durable as aluminum.
I got the latest black scar, I only use green gas and propane. I only use good silicon oil nothing from a hardware store. No problems at all, many dont understand, You have to maintain these guns like you would a real steel. Keep it cleaned and lubed. They did make alot of crap and even with the steel nozzle co2 will break this gun eventually.
Just got the we scar, love it! Had a kwc mini co2 uzi and a rap4 t16 .43 cal mag fed paintball gun. Using mine for drills and training. That AK is insane for a AEG, My god lol its rof is like a minigun. Nice might just start my own project with that platform. 5 stars!!!

@shortypimpo101 NO! a $30 gun is waste of money. The cheapest M14 that will actually be good is the CYMA M14 which will cost you about $145. you can get at airsoftgiDOTcom If you want something that is good and will last more than a few days you have to pay for it.

The scar runs perfectly with green gas, and doesnt suck at all. The CO2 version should never gotten out for sales, cuz it destroy itself :( personally i have the green gas version and shot well over 10k bb's thru it, and not ONE single time ive had a problem :3 just letting everyone know :) sorry if some Words Are spelled wrong, i'm from norway and its the middle of the night :3

good review but i think the classic army m14 ebr rivals this one, and ARMY RANGERS use mark 14 mod 1 also as well as green berets and delta force idk about others such as the marines and army officers or snipers.

The PDW you've been testing, has the rearward portion of the lower receiver cracked? I've heard of a couple of reports of it breaking, one of which broke after two mags.

That AK isn't a support weapon. It's an AK with a drum magazine and a bipod. that doesn't make it a support weapon.

@LieutenantScout Yes , actually it does ... A support weapon is defined by ammo capacity and sustainability of fire , not caliber . An M249 is a support weapon despite it's 5.56 caliber . AN RPK is a support weapon , and it's only difference from an AK is the barrel length and the integral bi-pod.

@krazjoka Tell me. Did I say anything about caliber? No. I said it's an AK with a drum magazine and bipod. Support weapon is not defined by what you said. An L86 is a support weapon, yet has a 30 round magazine of the M16. A support weapon has a heavier barrel and beefed up internals to make in withstand the amount of pressure, and long term firing. If you try to use a regular gun for support gunning, it won't last long. An RPK has longer, and heavier barrel. Which makes it that support weapon.

Support weapons are consisted of LMGs ( Light machine guns ), MMGs ( Medium Machine gun ),GPMG( General Purpose Machine gun ) and HMG ( Heavy machine gun ) A support weapon doesn't always need 2 operators. In broken english? What are you, a fucking grammar nazi?
Putting a drum magazine and a bipod on a Regular gun does NOT make it a support weapon.

SAWs are usually equipped with a bipod for stabilization and fire the same cartridge as the assault rifles carried by other members of the unit. This reduces logistical requirements by making it necessary to supply only one type of ammunition to a unit. SAWs are light enough to be carried by one man.

@LieutenantScout Dude , sounds to me like we are saying pretty much the same thing, so no need to argue about what a support weapon is . The point is that the weapon in question is an airsoft gun . To my knowledge noone makes any 'real' support weapons other than SAWs (M249's , M60's and RPK's), none that are mass produced or affordable or viable anyway, so most clubs use variations of SAWs and classify them as' support weapons' . That's why he referred to the AK as a 'support weapon'.

@krazjoka I apologize for being a dick,I had a bad day yesterday.According to the rules that that AK is used in , it is classified as a 'support weapon'. But, yes you are right,an AK with a drum mag is not a SAW or a support weapon in real steel terms.The rules try to discourage hi-cap mags unless the weapon is in the 'support' class which adds additional disadvantages to the operator.Adding a drum mag and bipod allows you to run as 'support', but you must be kneeling, prone, or deployed to fire

WE SCARL seems to have a high lemon rate, I too have heard nothing but problems all across WE's first 3 gens with improvements on their 4th. A local AS field owner recently got the WE PDW, it has a very nice feel (a bit too small for my tastes and my frame) but he can't get it shooting under 350FPS for CQB even after installing an NPAS and running duster though it could be his crony.

@headlesschicken6661 I have the PDW as well and it does work much better than the SCAR . The only real issue I have had with it is the bolt catch . It tends to catch randomly, and not always when the mag is empty.Kind of a bitch when you're 5 rounds into a fresh mag and the bolt locks back .. I'm sure some tinkering with the spring will resolve it , but it's annoying. I've been wanting the WE M14, but after the issues with the SCAR an PDW , I'm hesitant. KWA GBB M4's this year ... can't wait!

@krazjoka WE makes some pretty awesome and easily available GBBRs, don't get me wrong but they have a lot of cracks in their production to fill in. The M14 doesn't seem to have any issues so far, their dimensions are almost comparable to real steel M14s that supposedly the real wooden furniture can be made to fit. I've shot almost all of WE's lines minus the M14, pretty sweet stuff but their pistols suck ass; easily breakable after short term usage even with proper cleaning and maintenance.

@headlesschicken6661 Agreed on the pistols.. I've had 2 and they both crapped out. I'va had much better success with KWA pistols. The price range is stellar on the GBBR's , just wish they were a bit more reliable. I'll have to fingerbang one of the M14's before I invest .

Yeah I think gas blow back rifles still have a means to go in the realism/performance/and overall value department. You can get high end AEGs at the price (like KWAs and VFCs) and the GBR still needs more mods out of the box.

EBR is not made from Magnesium btw, it's CNC Machined from Aluminum... Other than that, great reviews.

I think you got a lemon scar, and you also shouldn't really use Co2 because the scar wasn't designed for Co2 pressure... Mine works fabulously after I installed a RA-tech Npas system (and has been for 5k rounds)

@TAS801 I've put about 25000 rounds through my SCAR-L and it's never failed me yet. The little tool that comes with it is crap and I find the rails are too sharp along the edges. Other than that, best GBB I have had yet.

WE scar--- CO2? That's ur problem right there. I wouldn't use C02 with WE gbb's. There are many WE gbb rifles(m4/scar) out there with upgraded steel internals and function perfectly.

I'm in the UK and I just got sent the new G&G EBR from Taiwan.. On the stock internals, what voltage would you recommend for the battery? Thanks for the review by the way, it's what persuaded me to buy it (if I lived in the States I would've bought it off you)... Keep up the good work!!!

@Carrim1 9.6v is the max recomended. GI also says that the battery compartment is a little too small, I'd watch the full review from airsoft GI, is it a good weapon?

Its magnesium. G&G likes magnesium. In my experience, its just as rigid as aluminum and weighs less. But of course, I don't think its a durable as aluminum.

I got the latest black scar, I only use green gas and propane. I only use good silicon oil nothing from a hardware store. No problems at all, many dont understand, You have to maintain these guns like you would a real steel. Keep it cleaned and lubed. They did make alot of crap and even with the steel nozzle co2 will break this gun eventually.

Just got the we scar, love it! Had a kwc mini co2 uzi and a rap4 t16 .43 cal mag fed paintball gun. Using mine for drills and training. That AK is insane for a AEG, My god lol its rof is like a minigun. Nice might just start my own project with that platform. 5 stars!!!
