@LordAdrian It's not like Fatal Frame at all. Although both are great atmospheric horror game, Echo Nigh: Beyond has no action sequences. It's a very sentimental story, but it's great for those who enjoy less action and more creepiness in their horror. Unfortunately, my copy was stolen...If I could find it again, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

It does look creepy and Silent Hill-ish axe murder creepy. Thats why I sold off My silent Hill games. Japan makes some really creepy games.

This game is one of my personal favorites on the PS2. It was a nice change of pace from running and gunning to no guns are all. The heart-rate as your life bar was pretty sweet. And the ending was phenomenal

Is this a combo of Dead Space meets Fear? Yes I do understand this came before them but just to get a general idea.

@TPOTOishere Not really, since it's not an action game. It purely focused on horror, your character dies of fright (if he's too afraid, his hearbeats rech 200 beats second and you die of a heart attack).

To get rid of the ghosts, you have to bring them an object that was important to them during their life. Either that or find a way to vent mist out of the rooms, the mist creates ghosts.

You can really feel the loneliness in the game..it's really sad.

The farthest I have gotten I am still working on is past the one with the kid that is on top of your head putting his hand prints on your Visor. I can't play more then 5 minutes of the game till i need a brake cause this is scary as heck. sadly their are not many games out there that is like this game. Their are a few but not many most of the scary games is all blood and gore. Nothing like this thought.

I just bought this game at EB Games (PS2) for 14.99 CDN. Believe me... I barely got through some of the game and I have already shit my ass off a few times. They need to make an ECHO Night for the PS3 and 360. The atmosphere of this game is very creepy. Can you imagine that? Stuck in space, with no one around. Space is a very big place to be lost and scared in let alone ghosts on top of that.

Lots of Japanese horror to most people is just confusing or a let down. And this is coming from someone who is obsessed with japanese horror games and movies.

All they did was go based on statistics. Males 18-21 (the demographic that Silent Hill is generally aiming for) rates Gore as scary. You want to blame anyone, blame Konami for selling the franchise in the first place.

Other countries are capable of horror. Horror is subjective. But I understand your discontent. Psychological > Gore.
