People don't like hard, hellfire preaching because they know it's the truth and they're scared. People have developed schemes to not have to accept responsibility for their actions. We make plea bargains, redefine words, plea mental illness, hire expensive lawyers to get us off the hook, etc., Anything to not have to pay the consequences for our actions. Hellfire preaching explains that there are no plea bargains, no getting off on a lesser charge. No attorneys. We're either guilty or saved
