  • She don't like her eggs all runny.

Fantastic work, becoming my fav band.

  • can't find any good place for tabs, theres so much to this song its crazy

  • Seeing them Monday in Seattle... riding my bike. woo.

  • In spite of ourselves is the john prine song he is referring to..

  • So this is hipster, right?

  • Does anyone know what type of picking this is? I'd really like to learn it but can't pick it up by just watching the video. Thanks.

  • @headstock48 Travis?

  • @headstock48 Kinda like travis picking. If you wanna lesson on how to do it look up a youtube lesson of "Julia" by the Beatles. It has the same alternating thumb picking with the right hand. The left hand is the standard country/folk C, F, C, G progression like every John Prine song lol. That should basically be it. You'll have to work out the lead embellishments by ear though.

  • @Romancandle5929 Thanks. Great song. Have you seen them live? Do they do anything acoustic like this or is it louder? Again, thanks very much.

  • @headstock48 Unfortunately I haven't. I was actually just turned on to them today by a friend. I agree this is a great song. You should definitely check out some John Prine if you're into this type of songwriting, assuming you haven't already

  • @Romancandle5929 I think I might have, a few months ago. I wanted to see Deer Tick when they came to Boston but I know they can be loud, and I'm not really into their loud stuff. I like rock and loud stuff, but not loud Deer Tick. Did you look at the videos for Little White Lies and Stay the Night?

  • @headstock48 Nope. I'll look at them

  • @Romancandle5929 I don't know why one of your posts was removed, but anyway, that song Little White Lies is pretty good.

  • Now girls, stop fighting about which guitar is the best. Don't you know by now that it's purely subjective? There is simply is no right or wrong.

  • how did i just find this now ive been listening to it over and over

  • @zzzzzzzzzz202 Buy their album :)

  • Anyone have a tab for this song?

  • i have a martin 12 string that my gramps baught new in 55 and it has seen more good times and music than any gibson or other could ever hope to. its tone is so mellow and sweet it can play the prudist girl right out of her pantys. you get what you pay for bud if you want a guitar that will sound amazing right out of the box, last years and only get better with time you get a martin if you want something else you shouldnt be playing guitar

  • @dogdick89 well said..and agreed.i Can't wait for mine to age and sweeten like that.

  • my martin makes that gibson look gay.

  • @CaptainOi82 Martins are for people who like to blow money for a name.

  • @TheVictimsX I have a gibson too.. i just love my martin.. and ibought it for the sound man. .not the name.

  • timeless

  • Best band of the generation!

  • soo uner rated ...... =[

  • So good. So bloody good.

  • Could someone please post the tab for this? I want to play it exactly like he does!

  • @Toehead698 - the technique is an alternating bass style, specifically travis picking. the songs that got me started playing like this were 'they killed john henry' by justin townes earle and 'all the best' by john prine. good luck!

  • @neroadam ha i learned how to travis pick by playing they killed john henry too! then i kinda just freestyled and now im really good

  • @yungjmoneyboy holy shit i literally just listened to that song before this one. i feel like it was important enough to tell you haha

  • great fuckin song

  • This is so cute, I want someone to sing it to me. ^_^

  • "This song is about what adults do with their mouths."

  • that's a mighty fine pickin and a singin!

  • love it! Soo hot. Can I marry him

  • this song is awesome!

  • if I could invest in this band I would

  • @zzzzzzzzzz202 buy their albums.

  • I've got most of it down except the picking pattern. Any hints?

  • @Toehead698

look up townes van zandt...lighnin hopkins.. it's alternate bass fingerpicking

  • brilliant!

  • Love this tune!! Those darlins are an excellent band. When I seen deer tick Nikki was touring with em.

  • I'm guessing this is "kinda stolen" from John Prine's song In Spite of Ourselves.

  • cant wait to see D.T live at ACL

  • I can feel SOMETHING

  • hehe it does sound like a john prine song

  • and performance

  • great song.

  • stolen from who?

  • john prine. i dunno for sure, but i think the music in this song might be loosely based on john prine's "clocks and spoons".

i really like this song...it seems to stick in my head for a couple days after i hear it once. john mccauley has one of my favorite voices in terms of modern artists.

  • John Prine.

  • Fucking awesome.

  • Reminds me of Stack O' Lee Blues. Great artist.

  • Excellent!

  • its deertick...of course!
