Indie in the uk is sort of alternative rock. But indie usually has very unusual lyrics lol - but the lyrics usually mean something if u study them. Maxímo Park are a great example.

In the states they use the term indie for bands on independent labels but in the uk, ireland and europe we still use it for bands that are alternative rock. i think razorlight are kinda alternative
