  • i have the blue screen effects can i still use a green screen

  • @joecalico21

No, this is for a bluescreen only.

  • yeah, no. its saying that i have to contact the administrator to save it to that file, so your video fails.

  • @zebrasocks10 save the document as xml to my documents and copy the file to the appropriate folder later

  • I am an adminastrator but it sill asks me to contact the adminastrator, do you kno such a thing?

  • Where is the code

  • There r no time lines on the new version -.- o well

  • the video responce i out here (if it worked) is a vid of my vid i did with green sceen in a game called gmod

  • does this only work for windows vista?

  • Would this work with a white blanket or something?

  • @tobin2k9

    Haha definetly!

I just have a green screen cause i use sony vegas now.

  • @tobin2k9

Movie maker forums are a great place to look for transitions and effects, you can request as well.

  • @tobin2k9

This one will not work with a green background, you will need to find that somewhere else sorry.

  • @glassofchees. I have the code. I go to C;/porgram files/movie maker. The problem is, when I go to movie maker theres no shared in there. SO, I tryed to make one and inside the shared is the addontfx( which I also had to make)

  • @Oreo493

So what exactly is your problem? Please note this is for XP machines only.

After you make the Shared folder and the AddOnTFX folder all you need to do it copy the code into notepad, and save it as "bluescreen.xml" THE .XML IS IMPORTANT. After that, just save the bluescreen.xml file into addonTFX and it should appear in your transitions on movie maker.

  • It works perfectly :)

  • it worked thank you the only thing that actually worked i did wrong things a couple times i had to do it 7 times before it worked

  • @moazstarwars1234

    Glad that i could help!

Yeah it took me some getting used to aswell.

  • @glassofchees Thanks for the vid. I copied the code onto movie maker, but it doesn't show up with the other transitions. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Ken

  • @shilohrenovation

You have to copy the code into notepad and save it as "bluescreen.xml" then take the xml files and drag it into your AddonTFX file, that can be found inside movie makers program files. After that restart Movie maker and it should be there!

  • Hi, Thanks for your reply. Here's what I have tried: I copied the code to notebook. I saved as "bluescreen.xml" In Movie Maker, there is a folder called "shared" (there is also one called "MUI" that I did not use) inside that folder is a folder called "addontf". I dragged "bluescreen.xml" to it. I opened MM and looked under transitions, but it wasn't there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • @shilohrenovation

Hi, Okay your on the right track. Go into your shared folder of the MM program files, right click and make a folder named "AddonTFX" just drag the transition into that newly created folder and it should work.

Just to recap, if you look where the directory is it should look like this

    C:/Program files/Movie maker/Shared/AddonTFX

    Thanks.

  • Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Here's the latest. I went into notebook and copied the code. I then saved it as program/moviemaker/addonfx. If you open the "addonfx" folder, you can see the bluescreen document. I don't know if this makes a difference, but when I click on the document, it opens online in explorer. Is that bad? Now, when I open MM, should I find it when I click "transitions?" Thanks again! Ken

  • @shilohrenovation

Hi there, No problem! Im glad to help out. First things first, you have to make sure to name the folder right. Its "AddOnTFX" (with the capitolization) not addonfx. Its fine that when you double click on it IE opens up. After you place the XML file in the right folder and its spelt right, it should work completely fine!

    Thanks.

  • it didnt work

  • @moazstarwars1234

Then you did it wrong D:

  • i need help with the first part

  • @Missmadmad97

No, you have to save it into the addontfx folder. You will need to be an administrator on your computer to do this. Ask whoever you admin is to make you an admin!

  • What should i do when i try to save it and it says that i dont have permission to save it and asks if i would like to save it in my documents instead?!?

  • @JustMegan360

This one is for a bluescreen, you can also find greenscreen XML's everywhere and follow the same steps for the same result, but instead of replacing blue you will replace green.

  • wait what happens if you dont have addontfx? cuz i dont have it and dont have the transition

  • @icebreakersix1nine

Easy fix, Just go to your C: > Program Files > Movie Maker > Shared > Right click > Create new folder > name is AddonTFX > Then copy and paste the XML file in there.

  • @glassofchees oh ok thank you

  • YOU DONOT KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU RIGHT NOW! XD

    DUDE THANKYOU SO MUCHHH!!!

    I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE YOU FOR THIS!!!

    IM DEFINITLY SUBBING! :D

  • @JBlivetoparty

Hahaha, Glad to help! If you have any other questions regarding windows movie maker feel free to send me a message and ill be glad to assist you.

    Thanks for the sub!

  • @glassofchees

    Your welcome. :)

And yeah, I wanted to ask you if theres a way to make the green screen thingy more visible?

    x

  • @JBlivetoparty

    What exactly do you mean?

  • @glassofchees I mean like when I put the video on right?

    Its not really "Clear"? :/

    Any help?

  • one thing, when i try to save the video it takes forever still 0% and the time is climbing up, and up.. it's already saving for a day now and the minutes left is: 10000

    help?

  • HELL YEAH

  • will it work on GREEN screen

  • Is this green or blue screen? And the transition doesn't show up.

  • @iL4nce

Its bluescreen, and did you restart the program after you added the File to AddOnTFX?

  • @glassofchees yeh i did and it doesnt matter coz i only have green screen since it has a wider colour range. thanks though :) wait... this is my other channel lol

  • it worked woohoo nice 1 dude im subbing u

  • @peanutnu

    Thanks man

  • i did what you said... i made the new folder... and i can't find the effect for bluescreen!

  • @webkinzcyrus173

For the Bluescreen Xml.. Look in the description, the link there will take you to the bluescreen

(Look where it says here is the bluescreen xml, copy any paste that int notepad and save it in the new folder)

  • It work on my Xp! But does it has to be always BLUEscreen?

  • What if you dont have a AddOnTFX file???

  • @SophiaTheRabbit

Simply go into your C: drive > Program files > Movie Maker > Shared > Then just make a new FOLDER called "AddOnTFX" With the capitols the exact same and all. There you can add XMLS.

  • do you have to import your videos first before you go to transitions

cause i went to transitions first and the greenscreen effect wasn't there

    i need help

  • @kyleowenoneill

When you first put the XML in the AddOnTFX you need to restart WMM.

And to put it on the clips you have 2 have at least 2 imported and put onto the timeline.

  • thx man but is there a chroma green?

  • @AQWBladehikari199

Theres no chroma key in WMM, Sorry.

  • i did everything you said and it doesnt work :( any ideas of what i could do?

  • @DisneyVideos365

All i can reccomend is that you make sure you have the clips in the right order and make sure the blue isnt TOO dark or bright.

  • @glassofchees I did all the steps and it ended up with nothing, then the picture, fading and taking over

  • Does this work for greenscreen as well or just bluescreen?

  • @Wickster47

If you find a greenscreen XML it will work, but the downside to the greenscreen is that is has to be a very selective green. With the bluescreen you can use more variety of blues so you dont have to search. If you are using a green screen in real life it should work perfectly.

  • @glassofchees Thanks

  • wtf it doesnt work!!!!

does it work for windows XP or not..?

  • @ryan0ff

It works... Are you sure you put the picture/video clip in the right order? and also check that you have blue in it.. Greenscreening doesnt work in WMM

  • hey alot of people said i need to be on a blue wall to make this work is this right or is the thing u r doing different because if i dont need to be on a blue wall than that would be the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!! now i need a bluescreen haha but still THNX!!

  • @RaccoonSasha
