@MrVesanique I suppose so. I don't know what it is really, it just hits home for me the most. Still don't get the mixed feelings about it. A really incredible record in my eyes. I don't think it strays away the Deftones sound at all, I actually feel like it's a mash of White Pony and Around the Fur. I was introduced to the band through White Pony right when it came out, but really didn't start getting into them again until SNW dropped. Maybe that's why? I just love that album.

@MrVesanique I think Diamond Eyes is their best record..yet. But not just because of Sextape. Sure, it's the most beautiful song in the record(at least for me) but the whole album definitely doesn't have any fillers in it. ALL the songs are really amazing. Everything about the album is divine.

I will never, EVER, understand why Saturday Night Wrist isn't regarded as one of the band's best. The vocal melodies on Cherry Waves are arguably the best Chino has done. Rats! Rats! Rats! is fucking amazing and heavy. Rapture, Combat, Kimdracula, Hole in the Earth, and Mein are ALL such good songs. I think SNW is my favorite Deftones record. There's something about it that feels like the band is at their most evolved state. Pink Cellphone does take it down a peg or two.

Anyway, DE was a very rushed album, combined with a new bassist that isnt quite "deftones", something is missing. Even if you compare it to SNW, the album before, its much more complete. Its funny that they say the opposite on here. I know deftones happen to not like DE
