  • hey im taking my screen from one hp dv6000 to another hp dv6000 but after i opened them up i saw one screen was samsung and the other is LG are they going to work?

  • @ENASTY7ALLDAY Yes it is very common for the same model of a laptop to house multiple different panels from different manufacturers. These panels should be perfectly interchangeable, as they are built using the same universal standards. One point to note is the difference in resolutions: if these screens are not the same resolution, there's a slight chance that a higher resolution panel will not work in laptop with a lower resolution installed originally. But not vice-versa.

  • @laptopscreencom hey thanks alot im not sure of the resolutions of the screens....im only changing them because there is a big crack in mine and a friend doesn't use his old dv6000 he gave me

    but really thanks dude

  • @ENASTY7ALLDAY No problems, heres another hint, try to salvage the LVDS cable (Cable between the motherboard and the LCD panel), that'll make a higher resolution screen work on a lower res computer.

  • Excellent tutorial, I am a novice with computers and I changed my faulty screen myself in a matter of minutes no hassle at all, great job guys!!!

  • By any chance, do you know how to replace a screen for an HP pavillion dv 5-1138nr entertainment notebok pc?

  • well done

  • Can you replace a 1280x800 screen with a 1680x1050 screen? I want the better resolution but wasn't sure if the connectors would be the same on each screen?

  • @SirProdigy1 We do not support/recommend resolution upgrades. We've had customers who managed to do it successfully, and some who's computer did not take kindly to an upgrade, so it's up to you. If you go to our website, click FAQ & Articles, article number 4 will give you all the reasons

  • @laptopscreencom , i bought 1 from u guys but the screen is a little bigger than mine , and it just not going there, and plus a little fifferent, so i am coonfused here

  • @hrachv Hi! Sounds like you need to contact our support department, please visit laptopscreen com/support/

  • My Dv6 - 2170us does not have any rubber covers or screws, any other methods?

  • @NguyenEmpir3

I believe the Dv6 is sort of like the MacBook unibody, it's got a glass/plastic cover which is attached with double sticky tape. It is possible to use an exact-o-knife to open it up. Tools which will make the job much easier are: suction cups and hair-dryer (heat gun)

We will be releasing a MacBook unibody video some time soon, it will be relevant to DV6
