  • He didn't mean to do it!! He wouldnt have left the cue ball behind the brown if he did!

  • @james6497botterill He played that in case he missed it.

  • That plant was really not that hard, all he had to do was hit the third red anywhere and it was unmissable

  • The plant is not so amazing as snooker done.

  • Of course he was meant to do this.

  • there are quite a few of you that are saying that the plant was unmissable if he hit the red but if you watch it again and puase it at the zoomed in angle you'll get a sense for just how brilliant that shot was, if he hit that first red full ball do you think it would have had the same result?

  • vision!

  • ohh i was looking to the 3 balls below them and i was wondering how is he going to make a 4 ball plant with 3 balls and when he hit these 4 i just didnt understand at the first moment :D

  • "Amazing 4-ball plant" Mother fucker

  • Looks to me like all those balls where touching, if they were then anyone can make that shot. There's no need to find an angle, all you have to do is hit the end ball.

Not as amazing as it seems.

  • @boomyakasha there is more than meets the eye. firstly touching balls are hard to judge. no matter if its aiming in the pocket, if you dont hit em right they wont go in!! also i aint just about the pot its wherre is left the white ball after, was a perfect shot to nothing.

  • @1478ball Touching ball will ALWAYS go in if aimed towards the hole. Imposable to miss, unless not enough stroke. The energy will be transferred instantly in the direction of the hole.

  • @detectiveinspekta i am a snooker player, and when you play at a certain level you know about touching balls and how you can make them move a different direction to where there aiming, i.e if its slightly off straight, you can hit it the oppisit side to kick them over and pot. please dont correct my comment with something that is not true. if a plant is aiming straight it will not ALWAYS go in it depends where you hit the first ball. thanks anyway

  • @1478ball The effect you are referring to would be hard to create on tables and balls of this quality(and much smaller than on a standar club table). Having said that, hawk eye showed a clear gap between the last two reds and a slight offset, great pot.

  • @zwamman im not really sure where your coming from

  • @1478ball What you meant by being able to change the direction of touching balls, that's ectually a "drag" effect (a sort of kick, as you night say) that the first ball exercises on the second ball when the accelleration of the two balls is initiated. This effect will diminish with increased quality of cloth and balls. The last 2 balls in the plant are not touching though , which means adjusting the direction is done in a "normal" way. Seeing how he has to manage 4 balls -> great plant.

  • @zwamman nope i still dont no what you mean, altho being a pro myself i cant imagin i need explaining. :)

  • @detectiveinspekta That's not true, if the balls are hit at an angle the ball nearest the pocket will be slightly thrown offline.

  • @detectiveinspekta That said this was a simple shot to pull off, well spotted none-the-less.

  • Mark Selby is a quality player, but that shot wasnt actually that good, all he had to do was find the actual plant then hit the first red.

  • Selby is a class act no doubt about it!!

  • its was impossible for Selby to miss!

    .

all he had to do was hit the first red!

  • Not meant - left on for no colour.

  • Also known as a "shot to nothing". So it was meant.

  • The actual Ronnie is on twitter @RealRonnie , giv him some support for those who are on twitter

  • amazing! i wouldn't call it that , it was on just like a pussy waiting to get fucked!

  • nice.. selby is the best (Y) :D

  • nice 1... that's tricky

  • Selby is the tits

  • he is amaziiiiiiiiiiiing.

  • That was youtube playing an april fool's joke, nothing to do with the poster.

  • the fact he played it as a shot to nothing confuses me. it was a certain plant at that angle he shouldve stayed on a colour.

  • I think that the balls were locked up for that shot so that it was difficult to miss... the hardest and most impressive part was seeing that the shot existed and executing it under pressure, great shot from a great player.

  • that made my day. honest...................

  • ha wernt that good u sad cunt mayb u shuld get out more!

  • surely u realised i was being sarcastic.

  • As long as a set of balls are touching and lined up for a pocket then it's difficult to miss a plant. It's easier than potting a single ball.

  • depends but in selby's case its very hard to miss

but see hendry's 2 brave plants of the 147 made today - those were world class

  • i remember this. it's the highest ball plant i've seen.

agree that selby's a great player.

  • Mark Selby is a great player because:

1.He can pot balls from anywhere

    2.Always makes high brakes

3.A funny guy and its a pleasure to watch him

  • goo damn not only is he a gawjus player but lyk he is soo good! its a shame he dnt win dah masters agen but hey at least he earned 2 nd place!

  • fabulous shot, great player ! nothing more to say about it.

  • Do you have the video of the long straight Brown Selby played off the cushion to clear the table to win with a 22 break. The brown was one of the best shots I've ever seen. Too straight to play direct, so played it cushion first. Please post it if you do. Cheers mate.

  • Sorry, I don't have it. I know which one you mean tho. Insane pot! It was in frame 5 and snookerfan92 has posted the whole game. You'll find that shot approx 06:00 into the clip from snookerfan92 entitled:

    O'Sullivan VS Selby Final - Masters 2009 - Part 10

  • Brilliant, thanks GFAEC for the link. Thanks mate.
