I'm not sure why my first coment did not show, anyways what I was tring to say was that how impressed I was with the way in a way fortold exactly what the ipad turned out to be, and not only that it was also refreshing that you descibed the hardware, software and the whole reason why apple might creat what we know now as "ipad" from an educatinal theary instead of most video on YouTube which made it out to be something out of the starwars movie!!!

Only a major company could make something of the same quality as the iphone but patents prevent other companies from making the software and hardware required. There will be knock-offs just not any time soon.

AsktheTechies' setup in a better world would be in one device. It would be great to have the power of a MACPRO tower in a tablet. I am a student and do visual effects/graphic design and I think the keyboard, mouse and tower should no longer exist. A computer should just be a tablet or portable screen. Think of all the space you save with having only one device.

As a college student I love the idea. The only problem is price. If they can make it $500 instead of $1000 dollars I'd be shocked. Im guessing it'll be $900. People know Apple makes the best products, and they are all willing to pay top-dollar for them. I hope they come out w/ some deal for college kids though, like they did w/ the Mac laptops last year.

@Simon95able If you are referring to the Newton, I guess it depends on how you define "tablet" ...most people view it as a handheld device. The Newton was way ahead of it's time, but when Steve Jobs came back on board, he decided to ditch it due to profit margins and the fact that it John Sculley's creation (the guy who ousted Steve jobs back in the 80's).

Depends on what you do. I do not expect the Apple Tablet to be able to run Photoshop CS4. For Graphics folks, the Wacom will be hard to beat. You do raise a good question as to whether the tablet "iSlate" will be able to connect to a computer and serve as a wacom-like device. Hmmm, tune in in late January for answers. :-)

The kindle really isn't all that bad, i've tried one its nice to read a book on it, if thats all you want to do. But you see, the reason why it is a bit "clunky" is because of the E-ink screen, it has a slow refresh rate, but the joy about the screen is that it looks like a page of a book. If you were to use an lcd screen etc, it would be hard on the eyes. Its going to be interesting to see what apple has up their sleeves. Great Video!

I think the iWork suite is a "hobby" for Apple. They created it to show Microsoft that they had a backup plan in case they stopped developing new versions of Office for the Mac.
