Can a stock transmission handle the 1600cc??

i was lucky and me bos is from a 70+ bug,but maybe you will need to change the clunch bearing and a new 200mm clunch and flywheel if you new motor comes with out that

thanks, ime glad you said that, i have a 68 bug and just got a 1600cc twin port for it with twin 32 solex carbs, should be a bit quicker.
Small twin carbs, it will put in alittle power but not much over the stock

did the 1600 engine go straght on the 1200 transmission?
yes its a straight fit unless you have a pre 67bug that will need also a new clunc bearing from the earlier model.
