  • 5:15 I agree. this has been the case for far too long in the "scientific" realm. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form and void...And God said, Let there be..." God is light. Yet light speaks. This is the duality of light particles acting like sound waves. God's words form the substance of the universe from antimatter or dark matter, whatever there was.

  • Very intelligent response. Remember the end of Contact? She travels to the other side of the Universe, but she couldn't prove it with hard science... Does that mean her experience wasn't real? Is that the irony of reality? True reality is something we will never grasp in a "hard science" way. It's like expecting an ape to be able to read source code. And that's the beauty of it all.

  • Hold on, if you can't observe something, or at least its effects, then how can we possibly claim to know anything about it? .. Seriously, the "reductionist, materialistic" paradigm of physical science is the *only* effective method by which you can discover the truth of nature, as only that which can be demonstrated (ie, observable in any way) can be tested; the fundamental base of science.

  • Man, I'm sorry but you are talking utter nonsense, no offence!

If you really want to get into the consequences of quantum physics for our understanding of reality (and there _are_ some profound changes one needs to make in order to understand reality in quantum physics) you _need_to_learn_quantum_physics! Don't confuse the "quantum consiousness" with real science, they haven't got a leg to stand on...

Keep searching, but remember to be sceptic :)

  • Materiality and quantum will always lead us to a dead end.

  • great vid man.

  • Very nice response, Gerald. He ("No BS" denito9474) can "know" (perhaps "Know BS" would be more appropriate) while we grow in our awareness.

  • Your videos are always awesome Gerald. I love hearing about Quantum physics and Buddhism as complementary.

  • I have never seen quantum physics as anything divorced from spirituality, as well as mathmatics, expressive/creative arts, geo/biological studies, and energy/frequency studies.

  • Yes agreed! Unfortunately too many people have! :/

  • I often wonder how that could be, so many linking patterns in the depths of them...

  • Science - including quantum physics - is not about the "truth" (whatever that may be anyway), it is ultimately only a prescription for describing the patterns that we see in nature. You talk about things like "11 dimensions", and "dark matter", and the fact that we cannot percieve them. Well that is true atoms too - you can't "see" them either. They are just models. So don't use scientific theories to try to justify your beliefs about the "truth".....

  • .....Granted, notions like consciousness and free will challenge quite strongly the idea that we can have a reductionist scientific description of everything. So science is incomplete and flawed. But "spiritualists" go around trying to use quantum physics as a reason to convince people to believe them and often pay them money. This is why I'm happy that people like denito9474 are putting up serious discussions of quantum physics.

  • "As the circle of science grows larger it touches paradox at more places" (neitzsche).

The dream of a picture of the universre which is so complete it includes the observer(our meaasurements are just interactions in the whole shebang) is the dream of a physics which is also a metaphysics (i.e. a physics which makes metaphysics unnecessary). The probelm with Einstein was his obsession with finding a "God's eye view" since in such a picture there would be no hidden variables, no hidden facts.

  • and one more note... do a spiritual enlightenment and u will be assured that secret is truth... it depends on person that watches the movie...

many ppl say if thats true why am i poor

and because of theyr confusion they dont understand that in that question lies the answer..

u r poor cos ur focused on that poorness

secret doesent say that ull get brand new ferrari tommorow if u want it.

    the point is in focus.

ppl must get wise to understand

and whining about material is far away from wise.

  • u go in right direction..keep it up

for best insight of reality meditation is the key

and one note (99.99999999999 percent of an atom is not ''empty'' space, its vacuum and vacuum is not empty...vacuum is that blank page that u talk about)

  • you're telling so much bullshit. You've said "redefine" like for 3 times, which actually means nothing. Educate -that's what you should do.

  • I couldnt see any valid objections raised from your side to this vedio other that using some abuse words like a 3rd rated guy. "CAN THERE BE SCIENCE W/O CONSCIOUSNESS YOU SCIENCE MAN" ?

  • you are such an asshole. Don't show people those silly books which authors are getting rich from telling sensation and all this pop-science to the masses.

  • hippy trippy lacks observable repeatability because the ancients miraculously managed to develop a framework without a fixed scheme

the reductionism is for testability and because a non-existent horse does not gallop at any speed, the question would be meaningless

the so called unphysical notions are geometric, yet more than that

you can't touch a distance but the distance will reduce your gravitational force

it's complicated but the damn 500 char limit won't let me tell you

  • eeej wats up man, i wanna ee a necessarily a em a typa yeah ahm so anyways. So ahm conciousness oem is aehm i have this cool book i read, ahm and i know its true and its so smart ahm. Im so exited i have to share my emotions with the world. But im very limited at expressing myself yet since i rather repeat parts of what i read and heard then put the necessary work to optain a higher level of conciousness ahm.

Man i gotta roll another J. See ya ahm

  • Well dude, we all gotta take it to the extreme in order to realize the true meaning of life and the "reality" that we see through our brain.

Btw can you tell me how is it possible something that isn't real tells you that this stuff is not real?

  • nice video

  • your description of an atom is dependent upon the classic assumtions this seems kind of ironic.

Context is the key factor and materialism is very useful in the contexts in wich we operate.

Science is only redigfining classical concepts and it is healthy to view things in a dualistic sense when you can acomplish physical results by doing so.

  • very nice.

  • thank you :D

  • I agree consciousness is at the center of evrything. This does not mean the scientific empyricism should be be replaced. All the statement about fields of enrgy empty atoms were discovered by science method. Science does not disregard consciousness off hand, If somebody can show experimentally a link between consciousness and physical reality, all scientists would love to see that. in the absence of proof all the talk about consiousness in QP is just speculation with no substance.

  • Through consciousness we percieve a system of reactionary elements. I can understand all of everything as a gradient change within the state of hypocrisy. To be aware of something, you are percieving the difference of what that something is and is not. Compare the the two states and fundamentaly they both exist. When not aware of either, the lack of awareness ultimatley exists. And it seems that would require at some point in time for the lack of awareness to not exist. So no matter what? yeah.

  • "these two seemingly opposite modes of perception are actually two different ways of seeing the exact same thing"

    True that.

what I wish to do, is not divorce QM from any spiritual meaning or interpretation. I wish to avoid psuedo-science. I wish to avoid the way people use QM as a starting point to make a semi-rational, semi-logical argument to make a point about spirituality. The result of trying to mix a scientific and a spiritual perspective is too often a bastardisation of both.

  • But Don't worry, once this series is finished, I might do a companion series, "Philosophy of QM no reductive materialistic BS". Where I come at it from the other side of the fence.

  • Ok, cool man. Thanks for your reply!

  • took the words right out of my mouth. great video!

  • thanks man! :D

  • Great points, Namaste.
