  • water, is uncountable. Though people tend to say: 'some water'. For example: "I need some water and soap to clean the toilet" or "Bring me some water please, my dog is thirsty". Why can I use 'some' here although 'water' is an uncountable noun.

  • @Linguaspectrum : Ah yes now I understand it. You didn't say that 'some' can only be used in combination with countable nouns. It was my erroneous interpretation which made me think that.
